Blind Melon Reunites

so, rumor has it, that blind melon is getting back together, have gotten themselves a new singer, and are currently in the studio, making new music. i can't wait. i hope the new singer is decent, and i hope brad does a lot of the singing. it is yet unknown if they will be called blind melon or not. they are talking about a spring release.

Dude! Sounds pretty sweet. I havn't heard this anywhere else though but it would definitly be cool if it happened. I got into them about 2 years ago when someone gave their first cd.

I don't believe it will happen...I think that's all rumor.

When Shannon died the band vowed never to work together again...it wasn't the same without him...and it COULDN'T be Blind Melon without him.

I didn't see anything directly from Roger Stevens. I saw a post by someone claiming that they had heard it from Roger Stevens. I don't trust forums...it was a fan site...it doesn't mean it's true. Just like you should trust everything you read on here.

It's not Blind Melon without Shannon...and it's impossible to have a reunion without him...he was the heart and soul of that band. Without him, it's not Blind Melon. If they want to join back together with a new singer...fantastic, but IMO keeping the name is a disgrace. It's kind of like Axl Rose calling his new band Guns N Roses...it's NOT Guns N Roses at all..it's a whole new band...Silly.

 

Yeah, they should give the band a different name.

well, this is true, and i don't blame you for doubting. i happen to know that this guy is friendly with rogers. i've met both matt and rogers in "real life". matt's band was on the blind melon tribute album that recently came out, and worked with rogers and i think brad to create it.
a lot of people on the bm site are friendly with either the band or shannon's family.
also, on the bm forum, there was a photo, that was the whole band with the new guy!! and if you scroll down theres another of all them jamming!!

but then again, to you, who the hell am i? it's ok, i would doubt it too...but you'll see.

i completely agree with this, and hope they change their name....like the Grateful Dead now tours as The Dead...that's cool. i have a whole other problem with alice in chains, and gnr, etc. IT'S A DIFFERENT BAND, FOLKS!

but, all the blind melon guys are super-talented, and sound awesome together. i would love to hear some new rogers/chris thorne melodies....so, i hope it's true, and, again, i hope they change their name.

Blind Melon without Shannon? So bad, man,... so bad! Shannon was their voice, their spirituality, their leader,... he was like a Messiah... It'll be nice for them to change their name.

I think Shannon Hoon was defintely a big part of Blind Melon, but without the other band memebers, it would have been just Shannon, not Blind Melon. I think they are a great group of talented guys, and I bet if say Glen were the one to die, and not Shannon, they would continue on with the name. Each of the guys made Blind Melon; it's not a 1 man band.

They actually came to Little Rock a couple of weeks ago.

They're not doing well. They BACKED UP a highschool emo band or some shit. A friend that went to the show said that the new singer sucked balls.

It's very sad that they're even doing this.
