If it's a mushy spot I'd try to cut it out and let it heal up. If it's not too mushy, it's probably best just to watch it and make sure it doesn't spread (like any infection).
watch that rotcarefully and hope it doesn't spread. if it does it's choppin time. in the event that it does you can save the pups by cutting them off with a clean, sterile knife and replanting them in another pot.
omatl havnt talked to you in a while i hope all is well. ok what position should i plant them? some tell me plant it straight up and some say bury the whole thing sideways. would a pic help?
im doing just fine Captaindreadlock thanks. personally i plant pups straight up. they are too short to be of much use planting sideways. i would only put a longer (12 or more inches) cutting on it's side. then after a few weeks it'll grow lateral roots and start shootin out pups like crazy.
i was just examining my cacti and mow i noticed something else. the base of one is starting to discolor. is this cuz its recently transplanted?
Discolor how? If it's just yellowed a bit, then it probably is the transplanting, or just general root growth. Red would mean too much sun; black, that it's starting to rot.
check this out i got a plant that is only like a foot tall and its starting a branch and i would really like to see the branch do good but i only found it because of transplanting and it was under the ground like 1cm. how should i go about saving it
