If you smoke and take bc at the same time it will enhance the high... I used to do it all the time... and im a guy...
lol u did? r u serious? like do i have to take it and smoke at the same time, or just be taking it and smoking another time... r u serious??? i cant believe u took birth control lol
smoking weed in my experience doesn't effect bc, im not a dr. , but i see no relevence in each other and there would be more babies running around i think if it did effect bc.
when i was on it i used to smoke a large amount of blunts and i never got pregnant, but now i wouldn't touch hormonal bc with a 10 foot stick!
I don't think that it has any negative side effects, but I know on the directions it says not to smoke because you're at a really high risk of cancer and heart problems. It says cigs, so I don't know about weed. I didn't have any problems though.
When i went and got my birth control i filled this form out and it asked me if i do drugs and i said i smoke weed. You tell the doctors if you do anything because then they give you a certain kindof medication so it will work. My doctor told me that if you dont tell your doctor about those things then it might not work and you could have a higher risk of getting sick.
thats usually only the case for people who have allergies, compromised systems, or conditions which would prevent them from processing the drug safely. for example, a man with a liver condition can't take certain kinds of medicine because his liver might become overwhelmed with the task of cleaning drug agents out of his system, and could have serious organ failure or the agents could reach a toxic level. if none of those things are the case, selection of oral birth control really hinges on how comfortably it gels with the woman's body or cycles -- some pills will reduce period pains for some women, some pills make some girls feel irritable and sick. while you and your doctor can make a lot of educated guesses about what type of pill to take, for many people (myself included), it's a trial and error process.
About the only thing that I can remember that will have an affect on birth control is certain prescriptions medication, and the only one I remember for sure is antibiotics. When in doubt ask a doctor. Most areas have a "dial-a-nurse" that might be able to answer your questions if you dont want to see your doctor. I would also think if you called Family Planning they might be able to help you out. Again, when in doubt make sure to ask a professional. After all, it is your sexual health and you need to protect it.
