I'd like to know what your opinions of them are. I've experienced very intense visions after meditating after bombarding my brain with the beats.

The only cure for the individual's mind is the individual's mind. Outside sensory impressions might be "neat," but the benefit to true meditation is non-existent.

in my opinion, it should be separate from meditating for enlightenment unless someone is really stressed and tense. then it would be just a boost.

binaural beats offers brain entrainment, and it comes down to a science with your brain. enlightenment is with your mind.

depending on the frequency equated in your brain from the beats, your brain can change overtime in how it performs.
Delta:1 - 3 Hz Deep sleep, lucid dreaming, increased immune functions
Theta:4 - 7 Hz Deep relaxation, meditation, increased memory, focus
Alpha:8 - 12 Hz Light relaxation, "superlearning", positive thinking
Beta:13 - 25 Hz Normal state of alertness, stress, anxiety
Gamma:26-100 Hz Heightened state of alertness and concentration

brains are at the alpha level most of the time. when the brain is undergoing theta waves, you relax and have enhanced learning abilities. ongoing delta waves teaches your brain to use less energy from your central nervous system, (meaning you dont need to sleep as much), the ability to focus on a single thing decreases, and things like your ability to read body language increases. basically the opposite happens with gamma rays. Each wavelength does have some slight individual characteristics though.

I told you all of that basically to just say that it is a tool aside from meditating, and the only aspect that can be used for meditation is the physical aspect of relaxation of the lower frequencies.
