I've hung out there a bunch of times. yes, it is always flooded with pot and other drugs, and I have been smoked up for free there a bunch of times. there are many interesting and genuinly kind folks there and the police usually won't hassle you.
however, there are some total tweaked out drunk nutcases who hang out there as well. I saw some guy get almost killed there, I wrote this thread about it:

by the way man, SO MANY of the regulars on Hippy Hill are basically perma-fried retarded. like, one-pupil-drifting-off-to-the-side-and-unable-to-construct-a-proper-sentence kind of retarded. like after school special drug propaganda worst case scenario retarded. not so much the younger runaway street kids but a lot of the older guys who have been living like that forever.

and I doubt O'Reilly can do shit to change the scene there.

I was at Hippie Hill a days ago. Its just a big party of ppl sitting next to trees taking all kinds of drugs. I even seen a homeless family with a homeless wife, father and child.

 

I think of the "No spin Zone" the same way I think of the Daily show, and by that I mean not real news just "entertainment news" loosely based on fact's.

There have always been talking head's on the major news networks, I don't see how Bill-O is any different from the rest.
