biking 40 miles tomorrow

    Hey all,


    I have never biked more than, say, 10 miles before. I was in a serious accident a few years ago (not bike related) and now my right hand is pretty messed up. But gradually I'm reclaiming my old hobbies, one at a time, and I have my sights set on biking now. I bought a touring bike, which is basically like a road bike but a bit sturdier and less efficient, and i'm really not used to it yet. And I have trouble controlling the rear brake and half the gears due to my bad hand. So theres a party about 40 miles away and it'd be real classy to roll in on two wheels. I don'y know the way too well so i'll bring the gps. I think if I try to be careful I should get there in one piece, though i'm nervous. Then I have to bike back the next day. Arg.

    You guys can take bets on whether i'll live or not
