Best LSD documentaries.

I've seen a few others but those are my favs, what other interesting documentaries or research do you guys know about?

 

'The drug years' which was on Vh1 a few years ago was actually pretty good. It wasn't specifically about LSD but it was like a 4 part series and the 1st whole episode was dedicated to LSD pretty much.

I dvr'd it at the time and watched the whole series once but really only watched repeatedly the first LSD episode and the second half of episode 4 which talked about MDMA. It used to be on youtube but was taken down a little awhile ago.

 

History channel did a 4 (5?) part series years ago. Think it was Hooked: Illegal Drugs and How They Got That Way.

Nat Geo did one recently called Drugs Inc., but it doesn't talk about LSD.

 

Those are essentially THE ONES to watch about LSD. There's also another really good one I saw once made by the National Film Board of Canada called Hofmann's Potion. It specifically focuses on the early history, from what I remember. You can watch it here

I also remember a History Channel one called Getting High or something like that, but I remember it being somewhat biased and offered nothing different and possibly recycling footage from Beyond Within.

I don't think you'll find any more acid documentaries, just documentaries on drugs in general.

 

Yeah, I've seen the Hoffman's Potion, and altogether it didn't strike me as a good documentary. I'm really interested in research other than just documentaries. I think I read an article somewhere that hypothesizes LSD in part effects the part of your brain that REM sleep is controlled in, interesting. I haven't been able to find it again though, any peculiar research other than this?

 

Any documentaries about another psychedelic? Or perhaps the topic of psychedelics as a whole?

 

There is this British series called 'Sacred Weeds' that is kind of experimental research done on Salvia, Amanita mushrooms, as well as some others. Its on youtube
