Beer

I was talking with my dad today and he went and got a beer.

I asked him if he drinks beer because he wants to get drunk of if he drinks beer because he likes the taste. He said he likes the taste of beer. Like if he was having a bowl of chips and and a hot dog he would rather have a beer than pop.

I don't know how people can actually like the taste of beer without wanting to get drunk.. I'll drink beer but there's no way I'd ever drink it just to quench my thirst.

Then he said "why do you only drink beer to get drunk?" then I said "yeah" and he went on some speech about how drinking beer only to get drunk isn't good because you have to drink a lot and it can make you sick and stuff. He said I should just drink liquor so I don't constantly have to take frequent piss breaks.

Then it ended up with him rambling on about how the Canadian government is screwing our country because they own all the beer stores (yes the place we get our beer from is actually called The Beer Store). Then he went on about how pot should be legalized.

It's so funny because he always uses the same example to compare alcohol and pot. He'll say "I've been to over a thousand concerts in my life and never once have I ever seen a kid throwing up and getting kicked out of the show because he smoked a joint"

It's kind of true if you think about it because nobody goes crazy from smoking a joint. If you drink too much alcohol you die, if you smoke too much pot you fall asleep in a plate full of munchies.

Does anyone here like to quench their thirst with a nice old beer?

i love kicking back a single beer. definitely not enough to get drunk but it's relaxing. especially if you buy expensive microbrews and shit, mmm..

ps: mainstream american beer might taste like water but we also have some of the best high-end beer you can get. the only reason we have those huge ass, nation wide beer companies is because all the local breweries (except one) got shut down during prohibition. not that i actually care, ill drink my pbr and fuck anyone who's not okay with that

There's some American beer that I would drink over Molson Canadian any day. Fuck Molson.

 

I like drinking a beer or 2 if I don't really feel like getting drunk..
Or if I'm eating burgers or barbeque. Beer goes perfect with that kinda shit.

We have a store in my hometown called "Beer"

 

I love stores with straight forward names.

There's this store near my school and it's called "uncle tommy's convenience store" And this chinese guy owns it and he tries to act all Canadian and stuff. It's almost too sad to be funny.

 

I usually only drink beer if I want to be drunk. I'm not a big fan of alcohol though. I don't understand why socially acceptable depressant/poison is legal and cannabis isn't.. Ah well

 

Now that just hurts..

i drink beer every now and then for the taste. i like getting drunk less often than i like to drink. but sometimes beer just tastes like shit to me... others it tastes really good.

like last monday i had a 22oz blue moon, i had no earthly idea an orange could make so much of a difference. when i popped it i was dirnking to get drunk, after the orange i was drinking because it tasted so damn good.
