Scientists have discovered that something in bee venom destroys the HIV virus, while leaving human cells unharmed. They are expecting to produce a gel that can be used during sex that will stop the transmission of HIV. They may eventually find a cure for HIV using the venom. http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2013/03/08/study-bee-venom-kills-hiv
That's interesting news.Shame we're having problems with the Bee population around the whole world, what with truck loads of Bees being carted around the planet to pollinate crops and the like. The whole eco-system depends on Bees and the Bees are in trouble. It was big news a year or two ago but I haven't heard much about it recently.I would post a link or something about it but I'm a bit out of it right now.I'm sure if you google it you'll find something.
here's the most recent petition i signed concerning the bees. i sign about one a week. http://act.rootsaction.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=7449 i'll keep posting them in this thread. please sign them
Bee venom is also the hot new thing in cosmetics. It essentially acts in a similar fashion to botox, as a local paralytic, but without having to be injected. It's value is several times that of gold. Makes a man think about getting into the bee business.
Bee venom can also cure multiple sclerosis. I have a friend who cured his wife by stinging her directly up to 3 times a far, after the doctors have her 6 months to live. That was 10 years ago and she's living happy today with no signs of MS.
eating cow shit would probably cure everything too...if the person believed it the mind can do great things
The killing principle comes from phospholipase studies, of which Brown Recluse venom from Loxosceles reclusa, is an example. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11455021
the article says that are planning to test the gel in clinical trials soon. let's hope it works, but lots of drugs fail to produce results or have serious side effects that make them unsafe. also, I'm not so sure that any treatment will prove to be effective against new strains

Maybe they are declining in numbers because they are depressed at always having their honey taken away.
