Haha nice ... If I'm not mistaken that's Herr Gruppenfuhrer Atomik and Power 13 in the background of the first pic...

You are not mistaken. Ahh the days of unity, before a tale of two campsites....

I was just thinking about this the other day. What will happen when Hipforumers and ukHippies meet at festivals? Even with the size of some festivals, there's bound to be some of them bumping into each other.

(edit) I wasn't there last year. Was the potato wedge stall there again? If I had to list the awesome things about BD, that stall would be somewhere in the top three...I mean, the rest of the festival is great too, but potato wedges with chilli and jalapeno peppers, smothered in cheese sauce was my main meal every single day there.

Ahh, potato wedges, toasted cheese sandwiches and beer. I was sure I'd died and gone to Heaven :D

Last year we all camped together, except for a few people. Paul was in the campervan field, I think Dapablo might have been too, and so was Elliott. Jonny, Showmet, Taz and I ended up being joined by a load of little UK Hippies who I'd never met before....

Was that before Hipforums got back onto its feet though?

    Yep, it was...

I don't think there's any reason to think it would be weird. It's just two forums that some people go on, and it's not as if going on one precludes you from going on the other. Of course we have all sorts of instincts about loyalty and in-groups and out-groups which quite stupidly get applied to these kinds of things, but we're all free thinking enlightened progressives and can see past such pettiness, can't we! I know hardly any of the ukip forum people, but if I bumped into someone I knew I would probably shake their hand and give them a biscuit, if I had a biscuit...

And yes, the potato wedge stall was there last year:D

Well if anyone thought any differently of a person because of something as trivial as which website they prefer to go on, I think that's their problem... but yeah, I honestly don't think it will be weird.
    :leaving:

So, are you planning to go this year Mr 13?

Yeah well, you would think that, since you don't hang out on power13isawesome.com[IMG]. In all seriousness though, I get what you mean...I guess most people don't mind/care either way. But your comment "Herr Gruppenfuhrer Atomik" indicates some sort of animosity, unless I was reading it wrong. Would you give Atomik a biscuit if you bumped into him?

Nah, I'm probably gonna start saving for the final Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band tour. Dunno when it's gonna start, but I want to get to as many of the concerts as possible.

After going to the BD 2007 thread and seeing that it costs nearly £100 now, well, that's the nail in the coffin. Sod that.

Definitely, I always liked Stu:D I'm pretty sure I used the Gruppenfuhrer line years ago before all the ukip stuff, playing on the fact that "Doktor" sounds Germanic... no animosity, he's never done me any wrong, but I do enjoy pisstaking:)

And, you can apply to work at BDs, and get in for free if you're accepted... that's the only way I'll be going this year, I suspect.

Fair 'nuff :) I guess it's just like when you say you love me :p or that time when I spread the rumour about Josie eating babies and sponsoring terrorism. No harm meant, no harm done, and Josie should be out of Guantanamo early this summer :D

I'd considered working at BD, but decided against it. I'd still have to pay for the train ticket down there, and that'll be around £60 I think, money that could be spent on six final tour t-shirts :D

    Hahaha, UKIP, what a name!

They pay you 30 quid if you work all your shifts, and you can take extra shifts paid at about a fiver an hour.

I can't see why there'd be a problem camping together. Like Jon, I don't know many people on UKIP, but there are quite a few people over there that seem really nice. Even where I have a problem with certain fascistic moderation policies, I'm pretty sure I can seperate online personalities from real people. After all, there's a world out there beyond the computer, and it would seem slightly silly to organise your friends by what forum they post on. My only sincere objection, however, is that I would never, in my life, share a camp with someone who posted on Fender Forums....

    ukHip, actually.

I dunno, I can imagine some internet rivalries/fueds getting nasty even in real life. Also, I was hoping to see a Star Trek-esque Hipforum mod vs ukHippy mod fight to the death :(

Pfft, go back to your poncy Gibson then, just remember to call me when you want a real guitar. ;)

I don't think I can be arsed with festivals this year...other matters to attend to. Beautiful Days next year maybe, Glastonbury will probably have an even crazier application procedure by then so I won't be able to go :p

(edit) Heh, sorry, for a while there it looked like I was ignoring you. I'd written this reply and then forgot to click "post". Oops [IMG]
