me. who also drives a motorbike barefoot ? and among those, who kick starts barefoot ? p.s wind between the toes is a very cute feeling.
I do all the time and my truck has a manual transmission. I feel like with my bare feet I have better control of the clutch pedal….I always know exactly where my foot is on the pedal. With shoes on you can be off a little and slip off the pedal causing you to miss a shift and shifting with flips on can be a little crazy.
Driving barefoot rules, and despite urban legend is not illegal throughout most of the united states.
I see you live on an island in the middle of the lake. Wow, that sounds like a paradise within itself. I always thought it would be neat to live on an island. The closest I ever came was a sailboat on a lake.
Island life is the only way. Just about everyone here drives barefoot, since, as Alan33466 remarked, driving with flips is crazy
I always drive barefoot. My car has a manual transmission, and control is much more precise that way. I tried barefoot motorbiking, but changing gear raised a blister on top of my big toe...
Always drive barefoot except in the very heart of winter when it's almost silly to switch back and forth between some sort of warm footwear and bare. Even then, if it's over 15 mins, I'll do it.
Yeah, winter... I start a little earlier and end a little later with driving while wearing shoes. During the warmer months, it's not too often that I have shoes on while driving.
When it is warm, I usually drive barefoot, I park in a attached garage so I drive to work barefoot and slip my shoes on when I arrive at the parking lot, after work I remove my shoes when I get back to the car and drive home barefoot. Whenn it is cold out, if it is short trip I usually keep my shoes on, but for longer trips and when the car is warm I will drive barefoot.
Someone needs to invent heated floor mats, would't that be great in the winter. We installed radiant heat in the flooring of our house when it was built a few years ago. In our old house, my feet were always cold in the winter and I would be forced to wear heavy socks or slippers in the house. With the radiant heat in the floor, no matter what the temp. you can walk around on the hardwood floors and tiles in bare feet and be warm and comfortable. In the Winter ,at work I keep a small electric heater under my desk and a small piece of carpet because our office floors are cement with tile squares glued on the cement so without the carptet square and or the heater, the floor gets really cold on bare feet.
Yeah I found this tiny little place on an island. It's cool because the lake is on the fringe of a city. So it really seems like you've taken a time machine someplace else, since the city seems just so far away when you're on the shore with a bonfire.
I drive barefoot all the time as well. I've gotten a few "isn't it illegal?" comments, but have convinced those that have asked me that question that it is a myth. Now they drive barefoot all the time too.
Check out the website www.barefooters.org and you will see that it is NOT illegal to drive barefooted. My wife has brought up to me several times when I was driving barefooted that she believes it is illegal. I don't understand why anyone would think it would be. That's great information. Thanks. Peace and Love!!!
I drive barefoot all the time in the UK, I have no problems at all. As many have said on this issue, when you drive barefoot you feel you are better in control as you can feel the pedals under your soles. When I go into a petrol station, I stroll around barefoot and even at service stations on the motorways.
I know it's not illegal, unfortunately my friends did not (or did not believe it). But I have convinced them otherwise.
Driving barefoot is fine, but Motorcycling? You do realize that if you ever whipped out you would have nothing but little bloody stumps left! I dont even wear converse on a bike..
