i have walked into a couple stores barefeet but some just make you leave if you dont have shoes whats up with that its not a law its nota threat to public health we should all be able to be barefoot Peace out
You're right that it isn't a law, but stores are still privately owned and the owners can have their own policies against things like being barefoot or not wearing a shirt or whatever. The best thing to do is to be polite and respect their policies so that barefooters don't get a bad name. Just don't draw attention to yourself when you're barefoot. Act like nothing is different. When you're darting your eyes around trying to find a manager or something or hiding your feet, you look weird. Yay to you for being barefoot!
If I'm told that it's store policy, then I respect someone's wishes in a business. If they say its a health code violation, I just ignore them and continue on. The first situation is fine and just, the second situation is discrimination.
you people need to stop worrying & check out http://www.barefooters.org and http://www.thebarefootchef.co.uk keep 'em bare
Think of all the nasty germs that are on the ground. Now think of all the people tramping around on said germs. Now think of all the feet that could walk on said germs if you were allowed to walk into say a grocery store with no shoes on. It's not a discrimation issue, it's a put something on your nasty feet so I don't get sick from whatever the hell you are dragging in here issue.
Alot of it does have to do with the risks that you take on, that could and more than likely will become the owners responsibility. Like said above, the threat of germs or illnesses... stores filled with food, chemicals, and stuff drug in by people, and you're tramping around barefoot. If you pick something up, the store is liabel, and they run the risk of you holding them as such. Also broken glass, slippery floors, and various other things are all risks. I love being barefoot, in fact outside of work and special occasions you'll be hard pressed to find me with shoes on. I do however bring flip flops because I really don't want to be strolling across some of those restaurant and gas station floors without some level of covering keeping me and my feet from the sticky, greasy floor.
theres gonna be nasty germs on the counters where you eat off of, does this mean everyone should wear gloves and a glass mask? and since when are you so worried about other people stepping on glass, real amerikan, but you yet support the amerikans killing innocent iraqis in the middle east. you are a perfect example of a "real amerikan"
Yes, because you are going to catch some sort of disease/virus from walking around barefoot... oh wait, you'd have to have them come in contact with an orface for that to happen... RA, just because you can't reply with thought in the other thread doesn't mean you get to go around into other ones and try to piss people off...
Don't shoes carry at least the same amount of grossness as bare feet? In fact, wouldn't you say that a barefoot person would be more likely to be cognizant of the fact that he had stepped in something nasty and then do something to remedy that?
Indeed; shoes are a breeding ground for fungus and trap sweat and odor which cause an offensive smell. The only thing they are good for is keeping your feet warm during winter.
I never said anything about stepping on glass. I did say "well said" to the poster that posted after me. Also, I never said I support AMERICANS killing inocent people. Get your facts straight Mr. IhateAmeriCa. Also, what's with spelling America with a k, another form of "im young and rebelling and noone can tell me how to spell"? Have you ever looked at your skin under a powerful microscope? Ever notice those things called pores? You know, the holes...aka orificials. or·i·fice Pronunciation: 'or-&-f&s, 'är- Function: noun : an opening through which something may pass —or·i·fi·cial /"or-&-'fish-&l, "är-/ adjective
you lot really need to check out http://www.barefooters.org & then you need to see http://www.thebarefootchef.co.uk & then you need to chill some...
You called us a "lot!" I love you! I have to marry and english guy, or I won't ever be happy. Even if I hate him, I'll still love listening to him talk.
Wow, you can use dictionary.com; aren't you the clever one? Hey, guess what, many diseases/viruses aren't small enough to pass through the pores in your skin. I mean, you can't catch AIDS by touching someone with it... The skin is just to thick other than the area around a burn/laceration/inner body orface.
i got told to put some shoes on in this bar once, and my feet were probably much cleaner than the rest of the place itself. hey ho, i obliged however. then later the doorman got pissed again for me trying to steal drinks out the door.
Key word there is many. Not "all", but "many". Why are you arguing with me? What have you brought to this conversation about people going without shoes that was benificial to either side? Please, go away, quit following me.
