Of course I don't mean that at all. I don't think guns should be banned. However, I can't help but believe that with every one of these mass shootings, we come a little bit closer to an outright ban on guns. At the same time, with each one of these shootings, it seems as though people became more and more desensitized to hearing this kind of news. It has become one of those things where it's only a matter of time before it happens again, especially in this sick country that is obsessed with violence and death. Now me, personally, I am not a fan of guns. I don't own a gun, nor have I even fired one. I have no interest in doing so, either. However, it's clear that there is an agenda, and has been one for a very long time, to ban all guns. Incidents like this are used to no end to push an agenda that really has nothing to do with protecting the public, but people think it does because incidents like this instill fear, and most people are trained to automatically look to the government for a quick solution. A solution which actually plays into what the people in power want.
Luby's cafeteria in Texas. McDonalds in Chula Vista. The shootings in colleges. Had a law abiding citizen been on these scenes with a right to carry permit--lives could have been saved. It's the same old argument. Ban all guns(which will not happen) or let every law abiding citizen have a right to carry. (which will not happen either). So--what now?
Myself as well as other gun owners are not giving up our guns. If guns are banned on a national level things are going to get very ugly very quick. Every gun owner knows that if government doesn't trust us with our guns why should we trust them with theirs? Guns owners also know that if we are forced to give up our guns that is the final step in descending into tyranny. You know they will shoot you if you don't comply. That is going to be that. I say fuck that, if they fire at myself or other gun owners we shall unload all hell at them.
I have a permit to carry. It's very easy here in Oregon to get one if your record is clean. I haven't carried--I just got it because I could. I don't know--I don't like to think I need to start carrying--but I also hate to think what would happen if I had my beautifull little grand daughter with me somewhere and her life was threatened by some nut. Shit. What a fucked up deal.
we had our shooting in scotland, we introduced extremely tight gun control. considerable decrease in shootings, pretty much no mass shooting incidents like you see over the pond. course that system probably wouldn't work in America, what with the gun culture and what-not, people are far too attached to their guns, no politician would ever dare to try and ban 'em outright, they'd have to be mental. Plus the layout of the country would probably make it more or less impossible to police.
I was watching a show with my mother today where a woman went to get her license to carry JUST TO KILL HER LOVER. Had no other reason for getting a gun. The day after she purchased her gun, she shot her lover and killed him. Sick world we live in. My husband has a gun and he is responsible about keeping it locked up, as I'm sure most modest gun owners are, but there has to be some kind of limitation to keep guns out of the wrong hands. I don't know how we'd implement that AND keep the right to bear arms, but there has to be a way to do it. It seems that gang violence and gun violence and mass shootings are happening far too often.
As long as everybody doesn't have guns, I'm fine with a couple of swords, battle axes, and a bow. Otherwise, guns are a fundamental right.
Guns? What about crossbows, bows and tons of other stuff they will invent instead them? They would be avaiable on black market anyway.
All weapons could be banned-guns,explosives,knives,bows--all of it and someone would cut a piece off of a tree, make a sling shot and kill someone with it. A certain % of the populace is just bat-shit crazy and figure that their reasoning is correct when they slaughter innocents.
or as archie bunker would say to gun violence statistics..."would you rather they was pushed outta windows?"
if you ban guns , people who are gonna stop having guns are the sane law abiding citizens , not criminals or psychos, sure, there are people who cant be trusted with a gun, like someone mentioned before about that lady who killed her lover ... shit thats sick, and maybe if guns werent legal, her lover would still be alive... but still, theres that saying , ''guns don't kill people ...
Yeah...I mean if you ban guns, they need to be banned all the way around everywhere, which isn't going to happen. No one is going to feel comfortable trusting that there are absolutely no guns out there. I think it would be nice though if it was possible. Sure people are still going to kill other people, but it would be impossible for someone to kill so many people so quickly without some very heavy equipment. I don't think the argument is that banning guns would stop people from being killed, but that it could very well decrease the quantity of these massive killing sprees. I'm not a gun person at all. Never touched one, never want to. But if there was any possibility of banning guns, I want them out of government hands, law enforcement, military and I want them to be impossible to smuggle into the country. I also want all wmd's gone and a ninja squad going about making sure none of these things are hiding on a black market...so there's my little fantasy. Never gonna happen, but I can dream.
if someone had a gun in that colorado theater that got shot up last night during the batman premiere there wouldn't have been so many helpless people being injured and killed. i think america needs more sane people with guns.
Its sad all the violence and shootings and stuff but I don't think guns should be illegal. I come from Texas and in some places everywhere you turn you see mostly men with a gun on their hip. You don't see them blowing everyone's head off. I'm pretty indifferent about that. Also, like hunters. Some people like to have fresh meat and go hunting. Taking away the right to bear arms takes away people's rights more than 'just taking away guns.' Also, there's a sport 'shooting skeet.' You shoot these disks in the air. You would take that away from them. Also, if i'm in a store and theres a shooting or something and law enforcements come i want them to have some kind of gun or something. I do want to own a gun one day for my home. Not to carry it around with me. If someone breaks into my house I want to be able to protect myself and my family when i have one. And guns will never go away. I think its best for them to be legal but with tighter gun control. If some psycho wants to go and kill and murder people they will find a way and never know without guns they might find other ways more brutal ways to do it that won't be traceable. People cam make bombs and find ways to smuggle guns. Then they won't be regulated and people will get away with murder even more...
dont even need a crossbowhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caxaHpmxIH0"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caxaHpmxIH0 and if that isnt series enough then.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8LCz1Mla5U"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8LCz1Mla5U
