So recently I got back from travelling and since I have got back to the UK my skin has seemed to go really bad , I get quite a few nasty spots, i'm not that self-conscious of them but it's still an obvious annoyance especially when i'm shaving my face.

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any natural rememdies that are good for the skin. I heard tea tree oil is good for this, is this true? At the moment i'm just using ordinary soap and water, plus some vitamine E moisture cream , but it's not helping much at all and I don't like using chemical medicines of any kind unless absolutely neccessary.
I'm wondering if perhaps it's related partly to my diet because when travelling in asia I was getting loads of vegetables and only minimal amounts of meat and it was all fresh with no additives and despite the blazing hot sunshine and amount I was sweating my skin was in good condition I rarely got any spots or anything...
Actually i've been thinking about becoming a vegetarian again because i'm convinced I felt better for it in all aspects of my health...Still, is there anything I shouldn't be eating at the moment that could be perhaps a partial cause of my bad skin?
Perhaps it's the lack of sun in the Uk and going straight from hot sunny weather to grey overcast cool weather?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Had you eaten any medication in Asia, rather harmless meds,as we think(with cortioson in)in many countries they put cortison in meds for colds etc. That can give pigments spots, and you can lose your hair. Also to be in the asia sun can give white spots its the pigment in the skin. The trick is to rebuild the pigments again.Have done it myself with more sun??????????had white spots in my face.

I think pollution and hormones contribute to it. Stress too.

Oh man I was on cortioson a few months ago and also prednisone because I lost most of my muscle and strength from being sick and kept fainting and it was the worse thing ever. I broke out, got an out of control appetite and was very moody.

Oh but to the OP carrot juice is great and if you drink a good amount everyday your skin should clear up and even out. If you want something faster microdermabrasion is good as are acid peels and both give instant results.

I had the same issue when returning home from Asia. Yes, in my opinion, it was related to diet, climate and stress.

Drink lots of water... you need to flush out the crap that is causing you to break out. Your diet changed, and your body can't deal with the change from fabulous to not-so-fabulous, ergo some of the skin problems.

the sun levels are also playing a major part. And the stress of returning to "real life" is also probably a factor.

wash your face with a mild cleanser, and even an light exfoliant. Remember to moisturize, but mostly just ride it out. It will get better once you get reclimatized.

lol...I plan too but this unfortunately requires a brief spell of saving money in the land of perpetual winter (as the Romans so 'affectionately' chose to name the UK).

everyone else thansk for the advice...I'm sure it'll sort itself out as I readjust, in which time i'll probably be ready to leave again!

Hey Peterness, I'm actually having kind of the same sort of problem, except I haven't travelled.

About 2 months ago or so, I started developing some awkward looking spots on my skin, and it's starting to worry me, although I'm not sick at all.

Mine don't itch or anything....they're just there. I'm going to the dermatologist in 2 weeks [earliest I could get in *shrugs*]

Maybe if yours don't go away, go to the doctor, eh?

    def the most fun answer!
Sounds like you got to detox a bit. Adopt a veg/vegan diet (or VERY low flesh/dairy no eggs) and get a reason to sweat. if that fixes it some, your body's ability to store is the root.
Depending on where you are, air pollution can be a factor.
check that Vit E cream: is it heavy? could it be clogging the pores?

For me, its almost always diet and the amount of water I drink. Its a bloody hassle getting spots... no junk food... your body NEVER lets you have any fun. :(
