I started my first day of school yesterday in more than 5 years. I'm in the nursing program. I'm nervous/excited.

Good luck! It's nice to get back into studying after a break. I worked for a while and then went back to college last year and so far so good. I hope you like nursing.

Was it difficult for you to get into nursing school? My daughter is thinking about it,but says it's very hard. What a great trade tho--there'll always be work.

i start again in a week, after not attending since my previous graduation in '06. [IMG]

i don't know personally, but i've known a LOT of people who went back into school for nursing, and a vast majority of them were honestly not that smart. most of them had already dropped out once or twice, and went back into nursing specifically because the money's decent and it's easy to get into. and hell, about 80% of the ghetto trash that tried to scam me for free pizzas would come in wearing nurse's uniforms, complete with legitimate-looking hospital ID cards and everything.

i'm not trying to say anything against your daughter by any means, just pointing out that nursing school really can't be all that hard to get into. particularly if she is actually qualified. it may take a little effort, but i'm sure she won't be shut out.

Thanks. Come to think of it ,when I was in the hospital last year, some of the nurses weren't overly sharp. One woke me up at 4 am to WEIGH me!

Good luck. We need as many nurses as we can get.
