    Babies in Guitar Cases

    Dancing deserts
    Reaping palm trees
    Stuck in the velvet sea.
    The water carries babies
    Sitting in guitar cases-
    They're floating by.
I lift my hand to wave
But it's sewn down to the floor.
    The little ones are laughin
    And giggling in their cradles;
    Harmonious and endless,
    Mostly 3 chords apart.
    Their eyes are lush
    And filled with sky
So blue it cools my skin.
All of them are wrapped up
    In cotton clouds of white.
    They're not alone
    They all have berries
    Laying at their feet.
    There they go-
    They're floating away!
    It's hard to wave goodbye.
    They're lost to the horizon,
    In motherless cradles, alone
    Only to be devoured
By the orange and yellow glow.

Yeah, that was crazy... kind of unsettling imagery, but that can be a good thing. Very original indeed.

'Mostly three chords apart...' Smart line! And I liked the surreal scene here. But couldn't you have given it a happy ending? Even the sun would sing to see the flotilla of little rascals!

You know, i debated the ending, because i wanted to make it just a bizzar but cute piece. In my head, it was cute at first.....but when i read back, it does sound sad....

I guess in the end i meant, it's so hard to wave goodbye cuz i don't wanna see them leave, i wanna be their mama...i don't wanna let them float away. Also, the sun devouring them....i guess it does sound sad, but all that's meant by it is that i'll no longer be able to watch them floating in the distance cuz they'll be drowned out by the light.

Reading back on it for the first time.....i think it's a fucking weird ass poem. But thanx for your comments, they make me feel like less of a freak. hehe :)
