    Hello :D
I'm from Sydney, whereabouts are you guys?
I've been looking for festivals and such in NSW. Have you even been to ConFest?

    Peace
    Natalie

Confest rocks. I hope to make the easter one. I spend a lot of time over in Perth :) Then I intend to go north up to Cape York. I went to last year's easter confect and it's always the same - I have a great time and then eventually accept that the few days are over (after much frustration) and then tell everyone I see that I can't wait for the next one :D

Actually no I only go to Confest. I never know where in the country I'm going to be at what time. I just drift :p . I'm currently leaving myself open to being at the Easter one but who knows. I may have to be the muso at a wedding around that time. I want to be there though.

theres a few aussies here but there's bugger all to say

i think the liveliest thing we've ever had here was some indignation by someone brainwashed by the whole anzac day thing and how the troops died for our freedom and then it turned out that they couldn't even be bothered voting.

a few people come here to ask if theres any communes in australia but there aren't many and to be truthful not many people are interested - somehow despite the odds, they are going to make it above everyone else (good luck). you have to remember that for many years people weren't really interested - buying shares and investment properties was number one. now they've got hammered badly by the GFC they are licking their wounds.

as a matter of principle it would be very bad form for most aussies to come on a site like this , not only that, they're going to hear what they don't want to hear (this is why john howard lasted so long - he just lied and lied and lied. oh yes, its been discovered thanks to the freedom of information that john howard had been arguing for GST for many years secretly whilst publicly saying GST was never an option)

just a brief summation of hip forums australia

you also have the interminable - "hey where are you guys from?" that seems to be popular without saying much.

an acerbic opinion i know but with an edge of truth.

GFC... GFC... I'm not so sure that we're having one at all. We don't hear the truth about half of what's going on and a GFC is the perfect excuse for organisations to do whatever they want to reduce costs (without the repercussions of a spontaneous downsizing, for example) and this is only one example of what benefits a GFC can bring.
My personal opinion is that politics is all rhetoric hence why I take no real interest in it. So then why must we talk politics? :p

Any other festivals that you people know of? I go to Woodford Folk Festival (QLD) every year and I can't recommend it enough!
I really want to find somewhere near Sydney where I can chill over the weekend or once a month or whatever.
Has anyone ever been to the Grove? (http://www.grovegatherings.com/about.html)

you can chill were ever you want, find a nice patch of mother nature away from the hussel and bussel and thats it, if ur in need of like minded ppl im sure thell figure out were u at, easter near were im at there is a mild one never been tho this year for sure, and cloths are an either ither thing so its gonnna be sweet, down near melbs theres a few they call them doofs i think, more for muse's and whats a GFc, sounds like ut cant be goot tho a down size kinda makes a group closer and easyer to mingle, so what do we need for our ausssie fourms, ut a place for us so lets make it buzz, ye ha to that sister rock on and find ur patch peace

Oh, you wouldn't pay? Don't you want to "...feel refreshed, alive and very awake... out of the wilderness, born again."
    pffffft
Why would they limit it to 8 people? Maybe larger groups question too much.

dove, GFC is the global financial crisis.

maybe i do need a shamanic embrace.
dove, a shamanic embrace is much like an embrace from a good friend, family member or lover, and then some - women are expected to wash out their vagina's with vodka, whilst men are whipped until the skin on their backs is red raw. The next day the shamans feed you fresh papaya if it's in stock and you feel refreshed and born again. To take an educated guess. Well worth a measly $450 if you ask me. :D
