I volunteered for ACL fest (not this year, though)... it's worth going if you haven't gone. If you couldn't make this year's fest, start making plans for next year's fest. There's always a kick ass line-up of musical artists and the atmosphere is bitchin'.
Oh man, I can't wait! Rilo Kiley, Keane, Death Cab, Arcade Fire, etc. etc. etc. fucking wonderful. Wish you could be there!
If anyone knows anyone that has extra tickets please contact me, my email is Waskins00@yahoo.com. I have friends looking for either weekend passes or a saturday pass so if u can help, please do.
Me and my roomate already got our tickets. Just got some friends looking......but found some on ebay, thanks. Suprisingly they are not to badly overpriced.
In a perfect world I would see Leo Kottke and Mike Gordon, mofro, Govt Mule, deSOL, Thievery Corporation, Allman Brothers Band, Slightly Stupid, Black Crowes, Built to Spill, Death Cab for Cutie, Robert Randolf and Family Band, John Butler Trio, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Widespread Panic, Drive by Truckers, Doves, Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, The Decemberist, Fanz Ferdinand, Tortoise, and Coldplay......but that wont happen, my favorite bands there will defenitly be Allman Brothers, Widespread Panic, Arcade Fire, Built to Spill, Death Cab for Cutie, and The Black Crowes Anyway, who do u plan on seeing?
And me and my roomate have to make the trip down from Lubbock and work that around our classes so that will probably cut into some of the music
In my perfect world, I'd get to see Rilo Kiley, Coldplay, Oasis, Death Cab, Arcade Fire, Doves, Wilco, Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, Jason Mraz, The Decemberists, Blues Traveler, Franz Ferdinand, Rachael Yamagata, Spoon, Eisley, Tristan Prettyman, Kasabian, deSol. My must sees are Rilo Kiley, Coldplay, Death Cab, Black Crowes, Doves, and deSol. So, you go to Tech?
Ya, I am a senior biology major/ chemistry minor here in the not so wonderful town called Lubbock. Hopefully I will graduate this summer and be on my to somewhere else. Are you from somewhere around Lubbock?
I used to date someone from Lubbuck, I lived in Austin at the time, and it was a seriously dreadful drive. I graduated from UT last spring with a BA in Design. I'm living and working in San Antonio now. What do you plan on doing with a Bio/Chem degree?
Well, I think first off when I graduate I am going to join the Peace Corp and hopefully work somewhere in central/south America for like 3 years. After that I plan on going to graduate school somewhere to get my pHD and I will be focusing in the area of ecology/envionmental biology. If I successfuly get my Phd I hope to be a professor / conservation biologist....that or any job that envolves me being outside alot, because I don't like be caged up inside. I am also playing with the idea of becoming a doctor and being an emergency room surgeon or something. But anyway that is enough about me. Is this your first time to go to ACL? Its mine, I had tickets to go for the last two years but it conflicted w/ school and I wasn't able to go so I am very excited.
Wow, your plans sound very, very awesome. I hope things play out for you. It'd be wonderful, I'm sure. Grad school was the plan for me after undergrad but when I was offered this job, I decided work in the field would be beneficial since this field is so competitive. Anyway, grad school in the future is still in the air for me. This will be my 3rd year at ACL! Since this is your first year, I'm super excited for you. Be sure to bring stuff to sit on/lay on; chairs, blankets, towels, shirts, whatever! And bring lotsa water! Oh my god... water! Or bring money for water and food. You'll want to eat everything because they have the best food vendors. Seriously. I'm ecstatic!!
Ya, I will definatley come prepared. I have been to Bonnaroo twice and I learned my lesson about having lots of water and stuff to sit on and what not. The first year I went to the roo' in 2003 I flew in and all I brought with me was a water pouch, pair of shoes, pair of pants, and three shirts......so needless to say, it was a rough experience but I had a wonderful time........and I owe alot of that to an Austrailian dude (matt) who I met in the airport who let me share his tent w/ him for the weekend.
Oh man, I wanted to go to Bonnaroo so badly this year! Specifically to see Josh Ritter but yeah, I only wish. That's awesome about the Aussie, they're great people.
Ya man, Austrailians are definatley some of the best people that I have met. I have been to Cronolla, Austrailia twice for like 3 weeks both times and I have to say Aussies are some of the nicest people on this earth.
