When we had analogue cable,I was very happy I was getting it in mono because alot of stuff to me SOUNDS MUCH BETTER in Mono...

The movie THE BREAKFAST CLUB for example (1985) -- It is UNREAL how much you can hear in the background on that movie if your hearing it on CENTER MIX (True Mono)

I got the official VHS tape of this movie and it WAS NOT DONE ON CENTER MIX (Even though its a MONO movie) and you cant hear ANYTHING in the background...

Alot of people dont like the hissing sound from stuff done on CENTER MIX,but it really is the BEST sound out there.......

I guess it wouldnt be a problem IF A MONO VCR PLAYED EVERYTHING ON CENTER MIX!! (You think it would) but mine plays left/right channel at a slightly lower volume if its not done on center mix which is stupid!!

I listen to 5.1 stereo most of the time, except for oldies, then it's 2.1 since it's not mixed for anything better and sounds best that way even tho it's coming thru 5 speakers (center cuts out)

The oldies need the subwoofer so they don't sound tinny like from an AM radio.
