heya everyone! I recently bought a new hard drive, and installed Win XP Pro on it. Music is a huge part of my life as Im sure it is yours as well. My newest problem is that My drive does not recognize my integrated sound. I do not have an sound card (as far as I remember) and I ran the check in suond audio devices thing and it came upw ith nothing. songs wont even play in WMP because it says i have no card. when ppl log in on msn, it beeps from within like an error sound.. Any ideas what to do next? Thank you Kim
are there speakers plugged into plugs on the motherboard? integrated sound generaly sucks a decent soundcards bertter but integrated shipsets are included on cheaper motherboards and are often disabled in bios/setup typicaly tapping del as u just start to boot will get u into it (some systems dont use del) once in there make sure integraded sound boards enabled and an irq assigned to it save and reboot
You need a sound device driver. The driver gives your operating system (WinXP) the ability to use the integrated sound device you have. To get the driver, you need to download it from the manufacturers website. Post your computer Make and Model and the model number. For example: Compaq Presario 2500. If I get time, I can find the proper driver for your computer and post a link.
