I am confined in the walls of a classroom that is serving no real purpose to me. I am seventeen years old and would much rather be at the library, or on a walk, or playing my guitar. There is something terribly wrong with this picture. Does anybody else feel the same?

been there done that. And now im choosing to do it some more. School pissed me off to no end, but once i graduated and started working i realized that the bs politics and general crap that you have to go through at school isnt all that bad. Sure there is verry little usefull knowledge taught these days. But thats not the purpose of school anymore. They are not instituted to inform or increase intelligence. They are moreso a tool to see who can grin and bear the bullshit. School never took a great deal of intelectual flexing, just alot of busy work. My advice is stick it out till you graduate. Get the best grades you can while you can, it may be helpfull later if you decide to go to college.

Man, I feel the same way. I sit there, I don't learn shit. I have very few friends at school, and people and teachers are horribly irritating to me. I get high marks, but everything I do is insanely boring. Teachers don't care most of the time because it's a "Self paced school" and all they have to do is hand out work. I do all my work in class, which is a waste of time, and make the most of my time outside school. But I'd love to just leave school. I know I have to, and then I have to go to uni but I really wish it was somewhat inspiring and filled with interesting people...

I feel exactly the same way. Which is why I don't go to school...
