As we all know, the war in Iraq is a very delicate issue. I thank all of the Allied countries out there. But do they really think it is worth while. I'm personally for the war but i want to know what you all think

All I'd like to say to this is .....

    Oh not another one

OK I'll edit this to say ... go and do some research, stop reading the tabloids and listening to the right wing media ...

Then come back and try this again when you've got a better argument than the total lack of knowledge you just presented.

No I'm not for the invasion and illegal occupation. Viva Falluja

Who are you thanking when you say sticking with you? If you want to thank Britain as a state for going to war, then write a letter to Tony Blair. He certainly didn't do what he did with our blessing....

There are many grounds upon which to criticise the French state, but their opposition to the war is not an excuse for mindless xenophobia....

"A question for all you pro-war people on here"

Fascinating responses, really does make you wonder

Hopefully ignoirance is your only crime and that you will grow out of it.

    The Sentry

We'd found an old Boche dug-out, and he knew,
And gave us hell; for shell on frantic shell
Lit full on top, but never quite burst through.
Rain, guttering down in waterfalls of slime,
Kept slush waist-high and rising hour by hour,
And choked the steps too thick with clay to climb.
What murk of air remained stank old, and sour
With fumes from whizz-bangs, and the smell of men
Who'd lived there years, and left their curse in the den,
If not their corpses....There we herded from the blast
Of whizz-bangs, but one found our door at last,-
Buffeting eyes and breath, snuffing the candles,
And thud! flump! thud! down the steep steps came thumping
And sploshing in the flood, deluging muck,
The sentry's body; then, his rifle, handles
Of old Boche bombs, and mud in ruck on ruck.
We dredged him up, for dead, until he whined,
    'O sir- my eyes,-I'm blind,-I'm blind, -I'm blind.'
Coaxing, I held a flame against his lids
And said if he could see the least blurred light
He was not blind; in time they'd get all right.
'I can't,' he sobbed. Eyeballs, huge-bulged like squids',
Watch my dreams still, - yet I forgot him there
In posting Next for duty, and sending a scout
To beg a stretcher somewhere, and flound'ring about
To other posts under the shrieking air.

Those other wretches, how they bled and spewed,
And one who would have drowned himself for good,-
I try not to remember these things now.
Let Dread hark back for one word only: how,
Half-listening to that sentry's moans and jumps,
And the wild chattering of his broken teeth,
    Renewed most horribly whenever crumps
Pummelled the roof and slogged the air beneath,-
Through the dense din, I say, we heard him shout
'I see your lights!' - But ours had long gone out.

    this says it for me
    WAR(my thoughts)
to much blood, flowing like rivers, another shot fired, another inocence lost, so much crying, for to much dieing, people filled with hate for fellow countryman, another child dies coz a government lies, poeple shouting names, but noone replies, brother ,sisters, husbands ,wives, innocent people losing lives.bleeding , pleeding, crying, dieing.the truth is suppressed by government powers. when will it finish ,when will it end, the heartache of loss never will mend......

Scotland isn't a nation state in the proper definition of the term. Whether it should be or not is a debate for another time, personally I think people have the right to self-determination. I also think they have the right to identify themselves however they like....

an exert from a gov paper when power was given back to scotland recognising them as a NATION once again
the Scots with their own "Scotland the Brave" can now hold their heads high with the re-establishment of control over their own affairs and begrudging English acceptance of their northern neighbors as a nation.
