BISMARCK, N.D. (Oct. 5) - An early winter storm that blasted in from the Rockies dumped heavy snow across the region, knocking out power to thousands and forcing National Guard soldiers to rescue stranded motorists. Up to 2 feet of snow had fallen by Wednesday night in parts of North Dakota, with winds gusting to 50 mph. A blizzard warning was in effect through Thursday for the Devils Lake area in the north-central part of the state. In Wyoming, schools in a number of communities were either closed or delayed because of snowfall and blackouts. "It is, on our records, probably one of the earliest ones, as far as our recorded history goes, in 126, 130 years," said Sam Walker, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Bismarck.
oh it has already snowed here (http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118805).. but it's all gone now. it'll probably start snowing again soon though cause it's getting pretty cold..
We looked into pellet stoves yesterday and picked one out.....So we'll be getting it soon. With the price of fuel going up, up, up.....we want other options. edit: You said it, squawkers....I'll take my Canadian winters any day......
last year we had more snow than ever since 1916, of course the year before we had a record minimum of snow, so I have absolutly no idea if I'm ready for snow.... on the whole I'm ready for winter, I have lots of ideas for canning to keep me busy this year and all the holidays are worked out....
the weathers at that point now where its not too hot outside please dont remind me that its gonna be too cold soon
