Its when your digging in the yard and find bones  of a dog..

I was digging in the yard the other day and I stumbled on a dog about 2feet down. I didnt find the dog right away: It took a meticulous search to really find the bones. There were not really many but a few back bone. I quit searching.

But rather what lead to the archedoglogy was a shinny dog tag, year 1977. So it appears the dog is from around that time. Whether it was wearing an old tag at the time of its death, this uncertain..

If it wasn't to much trouble, I could search county records and find the information on the dog. Only family of mine lived here. And there is not a person that can think of a dog, besides specific dogs the family had. But this is even more so interesting, because If its is not a family dog. Who's dog is it. And who killed it.

I believe the dog was murdered and put there by someone.
Ive only said this here. Upon further investigation of the time line, I was 7-8yr old. I remember a very annoying dog that belonged to a family: Two uncles of mine worked for the post office they complained often. Funny how my child mind sees something that's really hidden from my memory and piecing them together. I can not recall them saying they would kill it, but I remember them yelling often about it. I recall the dog vanishing because animal control got it. But thats what an adult said. Im almost positive about it..

why I feel its this dog?, because the owners wouldn't have searched the control office for the dog. They were kinda stupid and gave up easy. They had other dogs that I can remember too.

One time they even tied a dog to a fence and I got it and it belonged to someone else and I got a reward for it. Maybe they were in the habit of getting dogs. But really they were nice people to me. And well I was just a kid lol..

Would this suggest there was foul play to this dog? The dog in my memory.. I kinda do want to look in records and find out. I may call and see if there is a fee. if its not to much Ill look to put an end to this madness.[IMG]

this was an interesting read.. definitely unique from the general public .. do what you gotta do to find justice for the dog and answers to your questions!!

My only question is what were you diggin for originally 2 feet deep and a random spread????

Like did yo know the dog was in there and you were diggin to find the remaining bones or were you lookin 4 treasure or diggin a hole for a pump or somthing

I was planting some bushes.. Didnt you see the guy the bottom the post? [IMG]

the shinny tag got my attention. It was attached to collar, but what happened was, I smashed the rotten leather collar with my shovel a bunch. I seen it circulating actually and said 'oh dog collar" but the tag must of fell off alone with my contaminating the crime scene..

Im not buying its a cat cause a vertebrae is much smaller. very little bones remained. This is a garden. Assuming the killer knows his shit. Fertilizers, and lime the way to chew up the body.

what is kinda wild. I have dug and dug in this area many time before. Ive never on the other hand, over turned it this far down. Its much better dirt. Its just for some landscaping and stuff though really.

All the dead cats are buried out underneath our mesquite tree, so I just avoid that area. I'd be super sad to find all those kitten skeletons. We've had a lot of litters born here and there's normally one or two out of every one that don't make it. :(

Dan's dad bought the house next door to us and rented it out to a kid and Daniel went over there to help them clean up and they found a flattened cat underneath the car he had parked in the driveway. Mind you, this cat wasn't underneath a tire and it was far beyond the stinking rottiness, so it's a mystery how and when he got there.

This is very interesting...and how as a grown-up we go back and remember funny (but not haha) things from when we were children.
I have found what I'm sure was a dog's skeletal head poking out in this area covered with vinca (groundcover); but I'm sure it didn't get there from us and this house has been owned by my family for 50 yrs. I thought I was seeing a rock and was about to start pulling/digging at it. ewwww when I realized what I was seeing, I left it alone.
We have an animal cemetary area where we've always buried our animals.

I tried looking online for some records, they dont have it where someone could find it easy if it is, seems like something that wouldnt be that important, but part of county record anyways..

Tag is like brand new looking still after all those years. It in better shape than the one my dog is wearing that is legal up to date.

The is a spot in my old yard. I took a stick and pounded it in the ground, then took matchbox cars and feed them in there.. I wonder if I could find the cars now..

There was a kid somewhere in the midwest, I think, that found several thousand $$$$ digging in a sand bar - not long ago. I cannot say I wouldn't think I was "supposed" to find that money.

    yay for digging.

I have a little $25.00 metal detector.. It will not go down the length of a broom stick.. Maybe a few inches.
