I have an appointment with a psychiatrist in a few days. My therapist wrote a note to the psychiatrist as a reccomendation or something. I will tell him/her that i break out in a "cold sweat" and have sweaty palms when im nervous (and other anxiety trats), have insomnia, and explain my depression to them.

Any idea what kind of scrips i might leave with? Take into consideration that i'm 15 so will that make the stray away from the top benzo's? (Xanax, Valium, Ativian, or Kolnopin ect.)

They will not know about my marijuana use or anything else drug related.

    Oh man.....15.......

First of all you can't lie to psychiatrist, they probably have tests and shit for seeing what you have. You can lie to a doctor. Then again I may be wrong about that.

If you even get a benzo prescribed it'll probably be alprazolam or diazepam. There are other drugs for anxiety, however....

Not much of a lie I do have depression and have anxiety attacks (a few a week) and insomnia and the therapist backed that I should get medicated for it. Only went to her for like 6 weeks and on my 3rd visit she mentioned medications. My mom's side has a history of deppression, she has heavy depression herself, and and some of my dad's side.

I'm just guessing, but she might give you something like Lexapro or other MAOI's. However, it's hard to tell.

As for your pot use, she won't be able to tell unless if you come in smelling like it, dressing like it, or high.

Not even close. And even so, acting isn't too hard.

Maybe some ho-hum clinic doc or a nurse practitioner, but a real doctor knows every trick in the book, especially when it comes to painkillers. My dad is a former doctor in internal medicine (retired now), and he would tell me all the things people tell him to get whatever they wanted.

As for the OP, since you're legitimately depressed, I don't see what the problem is. If you want something specific, you could ask about it.

I won't go in her office high or smelling of it thats just asking for shit.

And I don't wanna go in there just listing out benzo's. If i walk out of there with any kind of medication he'll have to do some check-ups with me, right? I might be able to suggest some after a few times. I just don't want to be begging on the first visit.

If I were you, I would hope for the best. I had legit pain in my left leg a while back (still do). I went to the doctor's and complained. He had me do exercises and it was evident that I was in pain. What does he give? A script of fucking anti-biotics. Not even a shitty nsaid. Anti-biotics. grrr

Yeah, doctors know how to sniff out people who want to get high on opiates, but with stimulants and other things they're not as on guard or it's not as obvious.

I'd laugh if he just slaps you with an SSRI.

It's not that I'm suggesting you beg for something, just casually ask for his professional opinion of ___(insert drug here)___. Any doctor in the right mind will prescribe you what's best.

Yeah don't act nervous about drugs or talking about them. Especially ones they could potentially prescribe...

Most likely they will prescribe you a low dose of Lexapro, Zoloft, or Welbutrin. I really doubt any doctor will prescribe any opiates for symptoms such as yours, unless ofcourse your doctor is a complete irresponsible dumb ass, with no common sense whatsoever.

if you do get prescribed wellbutrin, it does have some recreational value, though i wouldn't abuse it too much. but i have taken some before and it gives me a nice euphoric feeling and i have tripped before when i took 5 pills. although i cant remember the mgs that were in the pills.

DO NOT Abuse welbutrin unless you enjoy seizures or death.

I know. I read up on it and realized that. It was just a one time thing. Although I didn't experience any seizures or anything when I did it.

It'll probably be Alprazolam, it's the most prescribed benzo in the U.S.
