For those of you who were looking forward to the iPlayboy app for your iPad, you're in for a disappointment. Apple has refused to allow Playboy to create a native iPad app for their magazine. Playboy was hoping to provide access to all its magazines, uncensored via a new app, but Apple refuses to allow any nudity on its apps. This is bad news for Playboy, once the #1 nude girlie mag. Its fortunes have declined drastically over the last decade or two thanks to free online porn. You will still be able to access the Playboy site over the Internet, even on an iPad, but not using a native app which would be far slicker... It seems to me that this incredible censorship on the part of Apple is akin to AT&T monitoring and censoring your phone calls for bad words or images being transmitted.... IMO, Apple needs to stop trying to make the world over in some unrealistic image of morality. Stick to making your hardware, and let people play with whatever "software" they like... http://www.infoworld.com/t/mobile-s...-its-sanctimonious-streak-denying-playboy-135
i am torn on this one..while i frown on censorship in most cases I also have an underlying dislike of the extravagance of owning an apple phone....not to mention the extravagance of the playboy owner Hugh Hefner...the reason i am torn is that i obviously am embracing this website and the technology needed for it.I am also admittedly envious of Hugh and the babes making it even more difficult to feel bad about anything that happens to him...we are certainly in an age of transition where paper magazines are on their way out..let the chips[micro?]fall where they may
Im sure playboy has something to subscribe to regular website style. That's accessible from apple phones, right?
Funny thing is, I remember one of the hit software programs for the Apple II (I think) was an interactive porn game. Click on the girl's clothes and they disappear. What was that called? Just shows how fucking conservative Apple & Jobs has become.
Apples "no nipples" policy: I just found this while looking for the old Apple II program name... So you see this is an ongoing battle for app publishers. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/10/publishers-fight-apple-ov_n_493214.html
hugh aint no dude to envy.....only God knows how genuine "his" girls are into a eighty something old man.
I still don´t understand whats so offensive about nipples.. apple apps can have chicks in super tiny string bikinis, but as soon as the little pink part shows it becomes offensive? like theres anything sexual about them anyway..
I wonder if this has to do with liability. Since there is no age requirement for buying an iPad, they can not make it available because of minors?
In principle I disagree strongly with having to pay money to see pictures of naked ladies, or to see naked ladies. It should be FREE! Good on the internet for providing free porn to the world. I think apple are wrong to ban this app though, if people want to pay for it let them.
