    Hmmm I don't think clay would have held up all these years... a little rain and clay is a goner. Maybe you meant terra cotta? Clay that has been fired and went through a chemical change. Even still... that is no terra cotta. It's carved stone, and I'm not going to pretend to know what type of stone it is.
