Anyone out there just like a mattress on the floor?

I don't really like beds.I'm happier with just a mattress on the floor. It make me feel more grounded when I am trying to sleep and also has that hint of bohemian outré decadence that I take as an inspiration for the personal decor in my bedroom.Looks great with a bunch of funky pillows, and you can just flop down!

Also reminds me of childhood - I only had a mattress, but in a good way.

No I like bed bed. The transition from lying down to standing is less harsh on my back and body when raised.

Im not gonna say Ive not: recently i had a little mattress on the floor over the winter. It was like camping, but dont want to do that ever season.

I did that when I lived in an apartment back when I first left home. Didn't mind it at all. Now they make a bed frame that sits low like the mattress is almost on the floor. They look funky but they also look like toe stubbing material because the wood sticks out all around about half a foot. It looks like a wood slab barely off the floor.

I like my bed really high now and big too. My last bed was ten inches wider then a king but it got old so now i don't have all that traveling room anymore. I am all about lots of pillows tho.

Truth be told,I often end up nodding off on the couch in the lounge. My bedroom is kind of like a studio, where I do art and music,so sleeping in the lounge often feels like a nice change of space for me.

I also prefer just a mattress on the floor, which a lot of my beds have been. Even a box spring seems like a little too much sometimes. I can actually sleep anywhere though. And it's nice to just sleep on a hard floor sometimes too. Times I've house sitted or been to a hotel, the bed has always been way too high! I don't like to jump to get into bed... I don't like high beds or huge beds. Full size works just fine. Though, I did have a bunk bed as a kid for a couple of years. That's a little different, I guess. I like to pretend I'm a cat sometimes. I climbed up to bed and then there was actually a slide attached so I slid down when I woke up. Sleeping in hammocks in trees is also nice.

Yeah I like sleeping low to the floor too and often fall asleep on the settee also! Hehe, wake up early hours of the morning and clamber back into bed.

When I was seven my Mum met this most amazing guy.He built me a raised bed on stilts with a ladder,so I could put my desk and stuff underneath - my bedroom was small. Now that was cool.So I guess it's either a mattress on the floor or a bed on stilts for me now.I know,I am very contradictory..

can't say it matters that much to me. i've done pretty much the whole spectrum, and i prefer closer to the middle but i can do any of it. blankets on bare floor is kind of hard for me, and upper bunk is just annoying to have to climb up and down from. but in the middle, i really don't care if i step up or step down to my equally comfortable mattress.

They sell them like that now, it's called a loft bed, one bunk up high and built in desk or couch and some are like a fort under the bed, oh to be a kid now!

Pump once, sail five,,, it was a great concept. Dunno what happened to the water beds, maybe too much damage from leakers.

Had A King Size Water Bed For 26 Years, And When The 2nd Bladder

Failed I Lost My Cool And Flung It Out The Bedroom Window...:(.

Best Nights Sleep You Could Ever Have But They Tended To Leak

    At The Seams.

They Say Once You Have Slept On A Waterbed You Will Never

Sleep On Anything Else, So When The Last Bladder Failed I Replaced

It On A Temperory Basis With 6 inch Foam Rubber, That Was About 4

Years Ago And I Love It...:).

    Cheers Glen.
