Those of you that are awake, I mean. Otherwise you'd be sleepwalking and that sounds dangerous yet funny. So...do any of you have your Thanksgiving feast in the semi-prepared mode yet?
dilli made a bunch last night, we butchered a couple chickens tuesday and i cold smoked them all day yesterday so everything is pretty much done here. shes gonna make a bean pie, and stuff the chickens and bake them later but everything else is pretty much done, just needs to be heated up ..
We didn't make anything to bring this year.We meant to,planed to- but as it came down to it we were much more concerned about making it bouncing from place to place, and getting to see everyone than food.
Smoked, yummmmmmmmmmm! Yes I have smoked a turkey or two in my time for Thanksgiving with wild rice stuffing. Dilli gone feed ya like a king today for sure, better wear the loose pants HHB
all thats left to really cook today is mash taters n bean pie n heat things back on up . I hate having to go nuts cooking on holidays, ruins it for me
nope not yet. i woke up at 7 to feed my niece and clean her up. Im back in bed for a few minutes. I already went to the store coz i forgot potatoes. I will smoke a couple of joints, and finish cleaning the kitchen, then to work I go. I already put the turkey to brine last night at 1 am. today at 1 pm, I will season, stuff and roast the turkey for 4 1/2 hours. dinner will be at 7. I will cook the pork loin after i make the squash and green bean casserole. while those are baking, i will make the potatoes, the filling for the pie, peel and slice the pears and the crumb topping for the crisp. gravy comes last since i want the turkey drippings. dessert will bake while we eat. I will bake and be baked aaaaaall mothafuckin day. Happy turkey day yall!!
thats just gross^^^ it is actually made of pinto beans and some spices n seasonings. It is also called fake pecan pie. They are surprisingly good to eat and cheap to make,,, real depression food
Not so sure about that bean pie. I did buy a turkey for $4 at Food 4 Less. But I was thinking to wait until next week to cook it.
they are simple to make yank.... Pinto Bean Pie 1 heaping cup mashed pinto beans (Note: 1 1/2 cups cooked beans equals about 1 cup, mashed) 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 eggs, beaten 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell Blend sugars, eggs, and butter until creamy. Add the mashed beans and blend thoroughly. Pour into a 9-inch unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until a knife inserted into the pie comes out clean.
