Any other rat lovers here? I have 3 adorable, funny girls, and will be adopting another mommy and her daughter tomorrow. Here are Shiloh, Lilybean & Bella. I will put up pictures of Sage & Asha as soon as they get here to their new home! Rats are such neat, entertaining, loving, missunderstood creatures. I just adore them.
Bless! Thanks for sharing. Do they have fun pea fishing? I like rats but I'm more a mouse person, we have a mousery. As I'm used to the mice the size of rats just seems weird to me! Theyre great pets though and I have been tempted
Haha they love pea fishing! It's so cute, esp. in the summer when it's hot. Yah, I love mice too. Rats are such great pets. I have fostered mice and hamsters before but they just don't seem to be too into humans haha whereas my rats just looove playing and bonding. They are so sweet and gentle. I just discovered what looks to be a small tumor on my oldest, Shiloh though. So I'm hoping its benign.

The bottom picture reminds me of my two rats I had Moo and Pinky. I had alot of rats when I was in grade 7 up until grade 10 or 11. They used to pee everywhere, but I still loved them.
We had rats as a classroom pet when I was in middle-school. I thought they were the sweetest pets until I had mice - not the pet-kind, invade my old house. Now I'm afraid I'm unjustly paranoid of long noses & long tails. (sigh) They WERE cute and VERY intelligent - that's the one thing I remember best is how intelligent the two boys were! I just don't think I could have them in my house now. Probably why we have guinea pigs... the short noses lack of tail. love, mom
rats are like the rodent version of dogs. they are simply amazing, responsive creatures that love you as much as you love them. i've had many rats over the years, and the only "con" i can think of is their short life span. for something so intelligent, sweet, and loving to generally live a year and a half is heartbreaking. but while they're around, they do bring much joy to ones life!
I do not have a rat, but I love them. I think they are very cute and I will probably have one eventually. Your rats are very cute.
I used to have two ratties, they lived for around two years with each other before they had to be put down due to tumors. They were never alone, though...
Mine have all passed away, and I'm not sure I'll get any more - they have such big personalities it's hard not to love them, but they live such short lives.
rats are social animals and should be kept in a minimum of pairs its unfair that she's on her own how would u feel if u never had any human company through out your life??
