Jesse Chong? He's a friend from VA Beach, playing at the Outer Banks Brew Station, tonight, which I will probably drop by and see around 8 (I'm camped out right next door)... His drummer is pretty badass. I met him at the Phish show @ Hampton, in 04. http://youtube.com/watch?v=FigIX96Ja9s http://youtube.com/watch?v=rCNcZf5AWno http://youtube.com/watch?v=KVlPL7B983c These were recorded for a live album. I was actually at that show on 6-9, in Norfolk... I'm one of the right stage, front row people, chilling/flailing on the front rail, with my arms hanging over. Haha youtube is grand for shit like this.
Because chilling and flailing are interchangable and everything. OBX Brew Station? Is that down here or in VA Beach? Because I actually think I've heard of Jesse Chong. His name sounds familiar...
Haha, bizarre. His band is the shit, though, locally. I hope he gets more known. He probably will in the next couple years, just like the Keller explosion that happened around 99/00/01, transitioning from places like Phil's Grill in VA Beach, to bigger venues. Jesse's first live album is in the process of being put out, right now. I could have seen Jethro Tull twice this year, but I chose to see something else, instead. I have no idea what made up for it. I think BB King is playing Portsmouth, VA, but I'm supposed to be somewhere else, that night. I could have left for High Sierra today, in Quincy, CA... but I don't think I need that much lag before I start Yonder tour, so... faaaawk. I have till the 13th to go to All Good. That's a long time. Edit - Alright. Found one, y'all. See you in a few days (or whenever I find a good wi-fi to connect to). I'm Ohio-bound.
