Any good Reggae Jam Bands?

After leaving this in the "Reggae" forum for about 3 months, I didn't get very far. Not too many posters in there. So yeah, I guess I should have posted this in the "Jam Out!" forum in the first place but oh well...
But anyway, any good reggae jam bands, or even songs?

 

this a tough one.....i can think of no jam band that is based off reggae. i bet someone is going to name one, and i'll be like "well duh, how did i forget that!" but drumminmama is right, their are bands with some reggae tunes but not reggae jam bands....

 

Leftover Salmon has a few good songs that are a combination of Bluegrass and Reggae, but they won't be makin any more music as their lead singer has passed on.

 

what are you talking about? when did Vince Herman die?!?! are you sure he did?! like in the past week or something the banjo player passed a couple years ago, is that what you are talking about?

 

I heard that it was the lead singer, was the misinformation? Oh dear, I'm going to have to call my mountain folk and confirm. That would rock if he was alive.......

 

Guem is a great percussion band if you are into that

Yep, my bad, I was wrong.......He now plays in a band called Great American Taxi and here's their website:

I've never heard them before, so not sure what their sound is like. But anyway, I stand corrected.

 

O.A.R would be something good for you to check out. I personaly dont like their most current album but definatly check out in between now and then - oh and check out the keep on going by yonder mountain where they go into leagalize it.

 

Oh and check out Perpetual Groove , they have sort of an island vibe, and are a great band - I personally prefer the album sweet oblivious antidote over all this everything.

Has anyone heard anything about the Wailers? They played a gig a few months ago near where I lived. I thought they might have become an instrumental band once Bob Marley died, sort of what The Dead became after Jerry Garcia. Does anyone know anything about them?

Yes the Wailers can definately jam. The Dead didnt really become more of an instrumental band when they lost Jerry. They just became different

 

Ya, O.A.R. is a great jam band with a definate reggae edge to them.

 

I can't stand O.A.R. all their songs sound the same. They are IMO far from "great."

 

Agreed. Alot of their songs do sound the same. I can see how some folks would dig them, but I don't really like them at all. I would have to say they're far from "great" as well...just my opinion though.
