I must admit to being a London lover, but I'm not sure I could live there all the time. Is good fun to go visit though :)

To me, London is the jewel in the crown of England. It's one of the most exciting, alive places on earth. I love its history, lore, people, etc.
    ROCK ON LONDON!

I liked it, although I didn't get to spend much time there. I liked Camden town. People sure wore black leather jackets when I was there.

Haha, I wear a black leather jacket, But yeah the history here is amazing, and Camden town's always buzzing with interesting people. And the National and Tate galleries are fascinating places to visit.

i love it when im down there, being 'lost' amongst the hugeness of it all towering around me...the street buskers...the dingy back street smoking cafes and pubs...watching life go by on the river...the galleries...not a big fan of oxford street like...wayy too claustraphobic...mind u it was christmas one year when i was there

I haven't been there but my boyfirend just got back from there, was staying in Blackheath. He loved Camden town too, and did some wild shopping there. We was also very impressed by the holocaust-themed memorials and exhibitions, he got quite emotional in a museum that had something on about it.

Camden is fab!! Me and a couple of friends spent most of the day there when we went to London for the first time alone (we were probly only 14 or something) and the whole vibe really went with our feelings that day! Ahhh, memories :)

Hell, I love London! Grew up here, hopefully gonna die here, and the inbetween bit I want to roam randomly, but always, always, come back here.

As for Camden, I'm not a fan. Some good shops, and a bit of a novelty at first, but it's waaayyy too touristy. I go to school in Kent (Loooooonnnnnggggg backward commute), and whenever they come to London, it's like, oooh, Camden! I try to get them to go other places, but it seldom works. However, last time I managed to convince a couple of my friends to do things my way, and they loved it so much they're demanding more :sunglasse

Hey, I play football in some parts of Kent, well on the border of Kent and London. But you're right about Camden being too touristy, but I like that cause you get to meet new and interesting people. I'm deprived of that being from the ghetto part as I am. Which part did you grow up in? I'm from South East London.

Hey, I'm from South East too! It's a small world... but then again, statistically that's not that much of a coincidence.

As for the places to go... I'm not gonig to tell you :p most of the places i love I've stumbled across at ramdom. Pick a place, any place, and take a walk with a friend. Even if you don't find something good, you'll still have a great time just walkin and a talkin'... I do at least. And if you do find something good, than it's a hundred times better than places you go to just because you've heard of it.

I can only take London in extremely small doses... like for a day or so. I think it's nice to have a look at, so long as I can leave it again. For a city, I think it's quite disappointing and ugly in lots of places. Go to Tokyo, it's much prettier!

Hey, I respect your opinion, but I'm asking for appreciation for London not ugliness and disappointment in it. ;) But in all seriousness, I would love to go to Tokyo, it does seem very pretty. :)

I find the ugliness brilliant. Part of the charm... the ugliness in London for me is better than, say, the ugliness in Kent (which is just damn depressing), it's got something to it... I suppose you need to live in a city to appreciate it like that. When it becomes a part of you and love it for the ugly stuff because it makes you feel a part of it, and vice versa

But then there are the really attractive parts of London. Great styles of architecture and all that. Some spectacular buildings too. Plus the reconstructed Globe Theatre is a really magical place.
