very cool. Like some in the blog said, just because someone is opposed to an unjust war, doesn't mean they believe that any and all war is bad.
For example, many anti-authoritarians call for Class War...the most essential war to humanity, that's already underway.

 

No, this is not cool, not cool at all, and anybody with a brain in their head and a supporter of free speech can see that.

I don't care if they were pro-war, anti-war, pro-bush, ant-bush or whatever.

They were there to demonstrate their own free speech and they gotten beaten down for it by another group who didn't agree with them.

These 13 invaded a protest and from WITHIN a large protest and started harassing the protesters.
Think about that, they pushed their way deep into a protest then did everything in their power to get the protestors angey at them.

 

You're right, and the PWs come down clearly on the side of incitement, rather than offering a differing opinion. Have you ever seen their "actions"? Their "political opinion" seems to be simply, "You Suck".

Their problem this time is that they believed their own bullshit, and it came around to bite them in the ass. They are CONSTANTLY trying to protray all antiwar protesters as gentle pacifist hippies who sit around sniffing flowers all day. They discovered that some of the "flower children" have thorns!

Kinda funny, seeing the lengths those spoiled twits go to come across as "tough guys", and the claims that the protesters are "too scared to fight". Their lesson came in the form of a thorough asskicking!

If you're being a jackass and saying things in places where you shouldn't, then you deserve a beating. Its called respect. You respect other people and they respect you.

Im sorry, if an anti war protester went into an area filled with bush supporters and started to spout some anti war rhetoic, then they deserve a beating. Simple as that. Know your place.

These protesters were at bush's inaugeration. Where is the respect for that? Should the secret service be able to beat them up because they werent showing any "respect?"

So, as i said above, you think it would be justified for bush's people to beat up anti war protesters at his inaugeration?


its all fair until it happens to your side, and then they are "supressing free speech."

 

Counter-protesters should feel free to express their views as long as they do it in a way that does not disrupt a rally. Stand off to the side with your signs and speak your mind but don't go marching into the thick of it trying to provoke people, that shows a total lack of respect for an opposing viewpoint. Freedom of speech has its limits, and so does pacifism.


I'm not saying that if I'd been there I would have been among those beating them up, more likely I'd have helped to break it up, but I wouldn't have had a lot of sympathy.

 

If you have the power to decide something, then in my opinion you have the right to decide it. IF i was there, (im a supporter of the war) i would have ben beating their asses as well.

If anti-war protest group goes to a Bush rally and gets their asses kicked, it was "facism & suppresion of free speech".

But if a Conservative group goes to demonstrate at an anti-war and get their ass kicked, it's awesome.
