im wanting some thoughts on angels and whether or not they exist and what they actually do if they do exist. i like to watch GTV sometimes (god television) and this guy was talking about being in a small plane crash and how his harness was remarkably loosened and the rear hatch opened after they crashed so that he could get out. he believes that angels (god) had a hand in it because both the harness loosening and the rear hatch opening was nearly impossible at the time. im not sure if i believe in 'angels' but i do believe in something... a few years ago i was in an autopedestrian accident. i was standing in the median waiting for traffic to cross and this coked up guy hit me with his big diesel engine work truck going about 45-50 mph. and the people at the repair shop said that the damage done to the truck wasn't like anything they'd seen before because my little 100 pound body did some serious damage to the truck's engine. i escaped with only a chipped tooth and a few scars and everyone involved told me i should be dead. anyways, i dunno if it was an 'angel' watching me or what, but i find consolation in the thought that something was watching after me that day. anybody have thoughts on these creatures? RELAYER im particularly interested in your thoughts because i know you frequent this forum.
I truly believe it was an angel who saved my sister about 8 years back. to make a long story short, my mom was holding my 6 year old sister who was covered in blood with a cracked skull screaming for help. OUT-OF-NOWHERE a man appeard to us, assured us everything will be fine, took my sister from my moms hand and slowly walked about a mile down the road where there was a little ER type place that my mom didnt know about(we were visiting Louisiana, we knew NOTHING about the place). Anyways, after we had just walked in and the man gave my sister back to my mom, she turned around and he was gone. vanished. she ran outside and looked in all directions trying to find him and show her appreciation, but he wasnt anywhere to be found. To this day my moms convinced we had a run-in with an angel.
Angels are the custodians of creation. They are below humans on the scale despite the fact they have divine awareness. Nursemaids, in other words. x
We are the highest order in creation. We are most like that which created us. We ourselves have great powers of creativity. The danger is, humans lack the control needed to wield it like the tool that it is. It overtakes them. Humans often create things to their own end sometimes. It either kills them or enslaves them. Your brilliant minds are sucking machines. You have to exercise control what goes in and what comes out. When they can have control over that, the kingdom becomes theirs once again. Until then, you have a monkey on your back called "the mind". It's the 800 pound gorilla that guards the door to who you really are. Can't move it by brute force. You have to convince it by a good argument. Then, the spiritual identity will make itself known to you. x
Angels have functions. They are not human, but still exercise their power in accordance to their design. They too, are creations. x
I think everyone who "believes" has such a story... Mine is falling asleep behind the wheel going across two lanes of traffic, goin into "A BEATEN PATH" in the ditch on the opposite side of the road and woke up just in time regain control and come back up on the curb before that little beaten path took a sharp left turn into the woods. like a fraction of a second more and i was goin into no man's land and would have prolly rolled over my truck a few times YIKES! No crash, no bangs, no bumps, no bruises, no sctatch to me or the truck, not even a FLAT TIRE!!! When I re-run the whole episode I know there was angels preent there had to be. First of all there was traffic present both behind and coming ahead but all other parties were far enough from that it did not affect them, second of all there the little beaten path... i was asleep seriously, the truck could have went in ANY direction why precisly in that place... ? all four wheels right in line with the two dirt strips beaten down in the grassy ditch!? Like WTF? No way man... way way way too much happended in about 10 seconds for it all to be coincidences. I dont care what anybody says.
I believe there are some form of 'angel' out in this world looking after us, we can't always put things down to luck! I'm sure I have a Guardian Angel.
i see there's a cosmic angel of light who wanders the universe and has heard a sensible prayer rising up from life on earth . our spirit shall be intersected , and we shall be blessed with an angelic sort of knowing about time and space . it may well confuse tho ones who are humanist , that is those who arrogantly think man is a special creation next to godliness . it's not a natural idea . we just happen to be good with symbols and language . an angel can respect this . hold gently the little bird .
I believe in angels, simply because I've seen one... I had three NDEs (Near Death Experiences) last year, when I was addicted to inhalants... One time, I'm sure I was dead... Literally... My out of body was horrible... This was before I became a Christian... I saw the fires of hell... I saw it all... An angel weeped as he pulled me out of the black flames, and told me as he set me on the ground that I would suffer the first and second deaths if I continued to do that... I still do drugs to a point, but... Nothing like that... Nothing like waking up in gravel with a mild concussion and your head bleeding profusely to start an evening... Nothing like having to hide it for a month until it heals to ruin a month...
Because humans are the pinnacle of creation. We are the closest to "God". Children, if you prefer. We inheirited the power of creation, although as children, we often create to our own destruction because we cannot tell real from unreal. In this world, the two are blended. Angels are really representations of energy. One religion may personify these energies for the sake of understanding them, another religion might descibe them totally different.
Hi Natural Philosophy, I'd be happy to write out a few exerpts from a book that deals exactly with the topic you are wanting to discuss when I have some freer time. However if you really are interested, the book I'd paraphrase is Harold Bloom's "Omens of teh Millennium : The Gnosis of Angels, Dreams and Resurrection". Angels, in all their forms, from Zoroastrian to Mormon. Very interesting stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Omens-Millennium-Gnosis-Angels-Resurrection/dp/1573226297
Indeed? You don't believe in personal revelation? Was it not Jesus who was to have said "These things and greater shall ye do"? Is it so hard to believe that such people might actually exist? To achieve a level of awareness that truly follows the path of the great master himself? After 2000 years, you'd think some of those seeds he sowed fell upon fertile ground by now. Yes? I answered the OP question. If you can prove what I've said to be false, feel free to do. To speak from personal perspective is no different than speaking in tongues. It's babble to most, but a few will be able to understand it. You know who you are. Am I outside the teachings of Christianity? Some would argue that, but I would argue that Jesus did the same thing. He opened a new and higher level of understanding between humanity and "God", beyond what beliefs were in place at that time. There is a great need in humanity to move to the next level. You're thirsty for it. You've earned it. But those who wish to hold on to the old ways will end their journey on the roadside without actually traveling any further. A war is coming, because the old beliefs won't let go without a fight. x
