Peace is not a bumper sticker, tie dyed T-shirt or hand gesture. It is something which comes from the great sacrifice of the few so that many more can live better live in the future. But what would you know about sacrifice? I see who you are. Most of you are young, un-showered, un-disciplined, unemployed and overrated. It seems that the vast majority of you come from well off households and attend elite Universities. You hold anti corporate hostilities but wear the latest gear from Ambercrombie & Finch. Everything you have came from the system you rage against. And speaking of peace, the song "Give Peace a Chance" never liberated an oppressed peoples nor was John Lennon a great diplomat that ever softened the hearts of Pol Pot, Saddam or KIm Jong-Il. But since you people get your marching orders from Lennon songs, here's one I believe in. "Happiness is a Warm Gun."(bang bang, shoot shoot) Freedom has always come at the end of a warm, smoking gun. America's freedom and subsequent Constitution resulted from war as did the freedom of slaves. Most of Europe would speak German and reside as German satellite states if not for American guns. Bosnian Muslims, collectively, would have been relegated to fertilizer if not for the guns of the US. Your silly banners, T-shirts, bumper stickers and hand gestures never aided anyone's liberation. And what's your obbession with communism? Are you so out of touch with historic reality? Or do you have an sadistic romanticism with murderous rule? Marching behind the banners of the Socialist Workers Party while holding signs that equate Bush to Hitler is obscene. Standing together with an organization that supports Kim Jong-Il lends no credence to your argument that a war In Iraq will take innocent lives. You obviously support the taking of innocent lives as long as it's not taken by American soldiers. And what about innocent lives? Before the Iraq war Saddam killed a truckload of Iraqis by the time you awoke in each afternoon to your breakfast of granola and hemp juice. Get a clue. But most of you are adamant about Bush being the king of evil in this world. Of course, that is, until one of you are forced to deal with actual reality. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor, went to Iraq as a human shield. Once there, Joseph was quick to learn that Iraqis were praying for the war. They said that they were willing to get their homes demolished if it meant the end of Hussein. Joseph said, "Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head." Kenneth Joseph now supports the war. What a surprise. And where were you fleebag laureates during Kosevo and the bombing of Iraq by Clinton? Where were all the "die-ins" and "vomit-ins" and Clinton=Hitler signs? You hypocrite. I guess as the great foreign diplomat from the Improve, Janeane Garofalo, said "it just wasn't hip" to criticize Clinton. Janeane is so illustrative of leftist hypocrisy. She verbally assaults Bush for this war but was the host of an event which Bill Clinton was the guest of honor,at a fund-raiser for seeds of peace. This after the former Clinton administration mercilessly bombed Kosevo and Iraq, all without UN authority. I think it was best put by Collin Powell when asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our Iraqi Plans were an example of empire-building by George Bush, while at a large conference in England: He answered by saying that, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return." So wipe the puke from your chins and clean the ketchup from your faux bandages. And for God sakes, put your clothes back on. Then, drive daddy's Cabriolet or Range Rover back to your safe campuses or perfectly manicured suburbs. And sleep well knowing that there are millions of potential acid bathers and human shredder fodder that will get their chances to feel the wonders of pain and suffering if you get your wishes. http://www.protestwarrior.com
It's completly false that the wars end the conflicts. So, when you kill your enemy, he stops bargaining, he's not of any menace anymore, peace and liberty!!! Hurray for you, but what about his son, his brother or his father...they are now angered at you and they want to kill. War only creates it's enemy. There will always be people who don't agree with you. But if you love your enemy (and by loving I mean give a house to live in, a job and medical help), he'll love you in return. Hate creates hate, love creates love, peace creates peace. Peace
But how could regime change and democracy have been achieved in Iraq and Afghanistan without military action carried out by the west? You have to admit that Iraq and Afghanistan are now much better off now they are democracies than they ever would have been if western countries had not gone to war to bring freedom to those countries. So a few thousand people died in those wars, but thousands upon thousands had died and were still dying when the regimes which ruled Afghanistan and Iraq were in power. The anti-war movement also ignores the fact that Bush and Blair bent over backwards to avoid war. All they asked for in 2001 was the handing over of Osama bin Laden from Afghanistan and in 2002 the return of UN weapons inspectors to Iraq and that they be allowed unrestricted access to suspected weapons sites. Both regimes refused to co-operate on these simple terms so there was no choice left but war. I don't think either Bush or Blair wanted to be in the position of deciding to go to war. No one relishes the prospect of war. The decision to go to war was the hardest decision Bush and Blair ever made in their lives, but it was the right one. http://www.protestwarrior.com
"You have to admit that Iraq and Afghanistan are now much better off now they are democracies" What makes you think that they are now democracies? Many Iraqi voters seem to believe that the "voting system" was rigged no matter who they voted for. Interesting being that the same is now the case here in the U.S. Democracy? Not quite.
"Blessed are the peacemakers for THEY shall be called the children of God." -Jesus. Stonecircle sounds like a gov't troll. So Stonecircle which agency do you work for? NSA,CIA,DIA,FBI, SA,SD,Schutz Staffel(aka SS),Gestapo?oops. Looks like I got confused as to which regime we are talking about. Do you know what I say to all warmongers? PUT UP or SHUT UP! If you think this war is such a noble cause GO ENLIST!!!!! Some wars are justifiable but the Iraq War is not one of those wars. Stonecircle go join the warmongers r us forums and leave us patriotic peace loving folks alone! Well I better let ya go. I don't want you to miss The O'Reilly Factor.
Everything you do harbours either good or bad karma. When a war is started bad karma and destruction effects us humans as a whole. Reading posts by people who support killing and destruction no matter what military or what country is doing it makes me truly sad and im sure the troops who die for the so called "right thing" realize the pain there family will be in just before their life ends. I really wish some of these war mongers would listen to the song by bob dylan titled masters of war it explains the prospects of war very well indeed.
Western powers installed these regimes in the first place this war is not over freedom but to install puppet goverments more loyal to their master. They would be far better if off if they overthrew the goverment themselfs like the February Russian revolution. Like Engels said we can't just have the masses blindly following a vanguard, the people have to unite and work together towards empowering the people.
We went over there with no plan whatsoever as to what we would do after we won this war. We promised them freedom. Yea, we freed them from an evil government. But what about the rest of the evil people, living amonst them. We got rid of the people that were ruling their lives in a bad way, but we also got rid of the only people that kept any kind of order in their country. We left them with no protection against the common thieves and murderers. It was total chaos when we won. Freedom? Please. They couldn't even leave their homes for fear that they could be mugged, raped, or killed by common criminals. And what could they do about it? Go to the local police? What police? How can there be police with no government to give them laws to uphold?
Who thinks the voting system was rigged..? Not literaly i know some did think this way http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/picture_gallery/05/middle_east_iraqi_election_views/html/4.stm http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/13070. Those that did not like the result..? or the vote in the first palce ?.. or even possibly just the the war in general ?. Whatever the reason, thats fair enough. Have the accusations any basis other than just being accusations ?. Having a voice about if they are free and fair..is something of a step forward in its self.. so my hats off too them. The UN. and many independant IRAQI monitors have said it was touched by violence and corruption was a factor.. but the overall verdict was that it was fair and honest .. http://www.ieciraq.org/English/Frameset_english.htm http://www.suntimes.co.za/zones/sundaytimesNEW/basket7st/basket7st1107177323.aspx You don't keep up with the news much do you.. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Iraq+government&sp=1&fr2=sp-top&ei=UTF-8&fl=0&fr=FP-tab-web-t&SpellState=n-1771187967_q-JaeOW3r4ZOw3lqPyU5mRdQABAA%40%40 In your humble opinion wich war/s [you can keep it too the last 100 or so years if you wish] where 'justified'. I think you are the type of person he is talking about.... If you do not like war all war.. i respect that.. Reading Stonecircle posts it seems that far from being a 'warmonger' i think a touch of reality is there. War is a reality always will be unfortunatly. You can't speak badly of some of the opinions of those that do not think all war is wrong.. it is not 'supporting killing or destruction' it to me is just a reality.. After war is peace.. If peace can be made with no war thats even better [Like the cold war.. though i suppose some war occured ?-anyway peace won.]... And like occured this time around, unfortunatly it takes two to make peace.. Saddam stopped the peace route in it's tracks. And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand o'er your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead Yeah that song is so peaceful ..
Thanyou StoneCircle.. maybe your words where a little harsh..and was maybe not completly fair.. but i think the point of 'Give us some answers other than shouting at us ''warmongers''' was valid. It was a refreshing change...please don't turn mental on me now i have spent some time 'on your side'.. ..it would be so unfair
What kind of peace are you talking about??????????? It's because of the kind of people who wrote this that their are wars.
Its Bob Dylan http://www.bobdylan.com/songs/masters.html i should have continued to add peoples names to there posts.. you may have seen the irony more clearly.. ?. Go check out peaceful chaos post earlier. I am sure peaceful chaos can explain why these lyrics are there.. I am sure it is meant as a 'symbol' of something or other.. maybe the extended version does not get played on the radio.. i dunno *shrugs shoulders*
The Spanish civil war,[size=-1] Lenin'[/size]s war aginst foreign invaders, Ho Chi Minh's war aginst US and French occupation, "Che's" war aginst US occupation of Cuba. Yes Lenin and Ho Chi Minh was brutal and Castro oppresses the Cuban people but foreign occupation would only have made (in Cuba's case make) things worse as the only road to freedom is for the people to unite and rise up and it easier having their oppressor within reach of the people. In the case of Iraq we have made things worse as it is harder for them to overthrow USA then it would be to overthrow Saddam and setup society themselfs.
They ARE setting up a society for themselves.. for heavens sake. Yes some agree with you and wish to overthrow the USA either by peaceful means or not so peaceful means infact awful means.. I did say your humble opinion.. but i was hopeing for a little less bias .. but i did ask .. Thanks.
sorry i misunderstood. anyway you should have said it in a quote... and i should have read the dylan song...
I should have put the persons name on the quote.. if you look back that person mentions Bob Dylan .. I was responding to that person.. that person should know the song.. i did not think i needed to add anything more.. I was not trying to be sneaky or anything towards yourself .. I am sorry you where confused, maybe you should go buy that song .. i think you can listen to it on the link i posted [you may have to look a little].
Well folks we had a democracy in Iran. Then the Dulles brothers sent Kermit Roosevelt over there to overthrow it on behalf of a British oil company. Many complications ensued. One of which was the second invasion of Iraq by the forces of a somewhat limited coalition. Most of the problems in the Middle East can be laid squarely at the door of American and British oil companies. We have jumpstarted a renaissance within Islam that may overwhelm this entire century. Go back and read how Iraq was formed. Find out the makeup of its people and then look at the countries that surround Iraq. The only way we can win in that country is by becoming Saddam ourselves.
Show me popularly elected legislative assemblies in Iraq that has real power and the people have free access to. Show me how the Iraqi people could do land reform with the system the US setup for them, answer is they can't if the Iraqi people want to have a society outside of the bounds the US setup for them they have to get rid of that system.
