an moral conundrum...

there is a train speeding uncontrollably towards a group of five people on the railroad tracks standing under a bridge...there ia a rather rotund man on top of the bridge watching the distaster unfold...the only way to save the five people is to throw said man off the bridge in front of the oncoming train...my question is this, would you throw the large man off the bridge to save the five people or would you let the large man live and let the five people be killed?

well i would like to say i would throw the fat man however depending on how fat i dunno if i would be able to... at the same time what are the five idiots doing watching a train come toward them? Maybe they need to die if they are that stupid to stand there...

 

I'd let the five die................because they should have known better than to walk the tracks in an area where there would not be room to jump away

 

Umm.. I'd actually do nothing, especially as i cant believe one fat guy could stop a train in its tracks.

EDIT: also, i doubt i'd be able to push him off the bridge.. xD

when they're stupid enough to get stuck on train tracks in front of an oncoming train, evolution declares it's time for them to go. i'm not going to murder someone who'll likely just be the sixth smear on the track instead of stopping anything.

likely they are. they didn't plan well, did they? like, calling the cops to tell them someone is tied to the tracks so that they could have the train diverted or stopped.

surely shoving the fat man onto the tracks (if he was fat enough to stop the train) would derail the train, killing hundreds. Whats the weight of the 5 people? Are they children? If they are, lettem die, save the passengers!

 

what if they're (five people) maintenance? and the times got mixed up..

 

shoulda gone into a different line of work. people die. i'm not going to murder one when it won't save anyone anyway. that's just stupid.
