technically I'm not posting a source, but rather a lead. This is a link to a gawker article that gave this site a lot of attention, enough that several politicians requested that it be shut down... silly politicians, thinking they have sway over the encrypted interwebs personally i think this is old news, but i still haven't seen anything about it here. You need the TOR browser to get there. easy to download Takes awhile to get set up, but its worth it http://gawker.com/5805928/the-underground-website-where-you-can-buy-any-drug-imaginable site features an escrow system that makes getting ripped off pretty damn hard.
btw, dont get too discouraged in the setting up process. it takes a while to get verified for a dwolla account an a mt gox account. but once theyre set up its worth the trouble just to have options like the ones you get
That source always seemed sketchy to me and was too out in the open. Basically jumping through one proxy to access basically an illegal version of LHG's swap meet.
I posted a thread about this >.> <.< Anyways, I made an account on that site, checked everything out, it's all overpriced and you have to use a thing called BitCoins which I really don't get at all
That. What politicians said, what, links? It's very possible to shut it down.... TOR is not the be-all end-all of privacy. You're still traceable, it's just harder.
Bitcoins take some reading to understand. They're really neat, but unfortionatly I think a lot of their value is dictated by places like silk road. I really should watch bitcoins, and by low, sell high...
Urm... Bitcoins are not strictly anonymous, as far as I'm aware. Their movements are recorded to prevent fraud, to put it simply. So... Everything about it is anonymous except for the currency! Fail!
Amazon itself offers some pretty interesting items...some not fully legal in the U.S. Nothing like the aforementioned site, but good enough for those of us living in the draconian world of the Drug War. I blogged about S*lk R*ad a couple months ago. It's Senator Chuck Schumer who wants it done away with (the same douche who waged war on killer "bath salts").
Theorhetically, if you buy/acquire them, and then move them between one or more wallets, they're just about impossible to trace, without really trying. But they probably wouldn't even try. The fact that you're using bitcoins would probably be used as evidence of intent of wrongdoing, although of course it's not.
This is very interesting. ive been contemplating trying it for a long time. i figure testing it out by buying something legal is a good idea (2cE for example). Anyone have pos/neg experiences with this that they'd like to share?
Decided to set up accounts with them, Dwolla, and MT. Gox just to check this place out. The whole Bitcoin thing is confusing as fuck. I am stuck making an account with MT. Gox. It asks me to confirm my account with an unique ID which is already filled in and my confirmation code which I have. When I hit confirm it doesn't do anything, just refreshes that page. I can't figure out what the problem is. Also confused about the Bitcoin software. Is that considered my wallet? Also how do I add the Bitcoins to it? Is there an option on MT. Gox to transfer them there?
