the modern day hippie to me is someone who goes to the "protest" for 2 hours after lunch and makes it home in time for dinner, and is also the exact same thing that they claim to stand against.

 

Plenty of liberal democrats are just as brainwashed as conservative republicans eagle! They are both limiting personal freedom and gaining more government control under the guise of "protecting" its citizens.

 

He trips hard and opposes anyone who challenges his fantasy of feminism and extreme social liberalism.

Destroy the family unit! Let kids do whatever they want in school! Let women kill their babies and steal them from their fathers! Let bums live off of welfare! Down with religion! Down with morality! I feel like I should mention this because it's really going to make your day, Ithaca: When I saw that you had posted to this thread, I immediately knew that you'd said something about being a conservative. The reason I knew that is: I know you're sortof an angry guy, and it's always the angry guys who are conservatives.

You're almost there, but a little mixed up.

The angry ones are the anarchists.

Way to demonize and use the most emotive language you could think of... "Morality" and "decency" are relative, and should be based on keeping people from getting hurt than making things look pretty. Traditions should not be enforced, as they are unecessary for our safety, but if you want them, go ahead and have them. Just don't get pissy when others don't follow suit. Christ, I never understood why others get so wrapped up in what other people do... Get a life and get on with it!

On topic, I find that most people who get banned are the ones who resort to "yer a stoopid doo-doo head for what you believe" and try to force their beliefs on others. That's not what free speech is about. There's a difference between writing something persuasively and forcing beliefs. It can be a subtle difference, but it is there, and some people just can't grasp it. You get banned for your actions, not your intentions.
And I think we can all grasp that there is no such thing as "Totally free speech." Otherwise, Christian recruiters would be in here trying to convert, people's lives would be threatened unchecked, and people would be endlessly harassed without consequence.
The rules are there to protect, not to make the boards more aesthetically pleasing to a certain group.

But then, I guess I'm not a mod and I'm not everywhere on this board at once. Hell, I've got a life. This is just my personal observation.
