hello, I'm a 27 male who is always gasey (from behind...) and its really starting to annoy me. its like i can't go without 5 minutes without having to pass gas. Does anyone know whats going on? I try to eat mostly organic food. I eat two bowls of pasta a day, once in the morning with olive oil and shredded cheese and once later in the day with pasta sauce and cheese. I eat a container of yogurt a day, divided into two sittings. I also eat two bananas a day, a small bowl of plain oatmeal, a glass of hemp protein powder, 2 scoops of plain whey protein powder. I also drink juiced fruit/vegetable juice on a semi regular basis. Usually it contains 1 apple, 1 pear, some cabbage, carrots, celery, and ginger. I try to drink all of that once a day but sometimes I miss days. Sometimes I eat walnuts, blue berries, and grapes. I weight train, I'm 190Ibs., and am lean. I walk around quite a bit for my job so I think I'm getting a little bit of exercise in that sense. I used to have social anxiety problems but I've been taking Efexxor and it really isn't an issue anymore. This is really an embarrassing condition. Anyone have any insight into what is causing this?
Do you burp? Or perhaps eat your food quickly? Eating quickly means you swallow lots of air. I get it time to time because i'm both a quick eater and have never burped in my life, really. I find that really odd.
anxiety is often co-morbid with IBS. Also, fruits and vegetables cause gas. It sounds like you may have irritable bowel syndrome.
Thank you for the responses everyone. That makes sense, but I'm actually quite the opposite. I eat slowly. The problem is at the other end lol. I wikipedia'd IBS. It seems that may be it. I do have bad stomach pains from time to time, always have. I also feel like i've been bloated lately. Its weird though, I've always considered myself to be a very healthy individual. Whats also weird is that I'm quite regular. I go at least once a day, often twice.
Have you ever had any testing done for food sensitivities. Our family recently removed gluten and dairy from our diet and I have to say that my husband never smells anymore...or my children. There is rarely gas in our house and when there is it rarely stinks. If you can, visit a naturopath that can do sensitivity testing rather than testing to determine if you are allergic. This is embarrassing for me a bit... but last night we tried to eat at restaurant that claimed they had gluten and dairy free options.. well, we were all on the toilet within the hour of leaving and we were very smelly. It seems like you consume a lot of dairy, so that may be where you want to start. Good luck.
