I am a textbook labeled alcoholic, but I feel as long as it's not affecting my life or my character, then textbooks can fuck off.

 

apparently you haven't read the textbook closely enough. the major symptom of alcohol dependence (rather than merely abuse) is that it does affect your life.

 

key word SYMPTOM as in side effect. and I didn't say dependancy, because that's what alcoholism leads to. I'd rather not hunt down the list of things that qualifies one as an alcoholic but if you insist on arguing the point, I will.

I've been to rehab 3 times already.

 

Drinking takes the surrealism away from my life.

Thus I only imbibe on weekends. Helps keep me grounded enough to deal with reality.
