Every other western country rarely has a school shooting. Arguing that the current amount is bearable if the consequence is an experiment with better (enforced) gun control is part of the problem themselves. I think that's why Kerri and others are putting it that way.
Anyway, is portraying this problem as a left vs. right issue political issue about carrying out agendas instead of the societal/cultural problem that it really is not putting it black and white?
Or portraying it as if the people arguing for gun control are all people who don't own guns and know nothing about guns? The people portraying it like that have thoroughly been set straight.
Trying to figure out wether someone cares more about everything staying the same at the cost of school shootings not going down seems very valid.

 

If i were a king and my people were shooting each other, I would try to get people to stop shooting each other without taking their guns away.

 

Comes into the thread almost 1500 posts in guns blazing no pun intended and gets pretty much shot down no pun intended because of lack of preparedness and lack of respect for others views.

In 2017 there were 422 mass shooting deaths in the U.S. That represents about 3.6 percent of the number of murders by firearms (11,000) in the same year. On top of that, given that there are over 300 million guns in the U.S., the number of murders by firearms represents .00315 percent of that number. And that's the justification used by some people to take away my Glock pistol.

Does anyone know how to write out .00315 percent.

 

Thats why I asked her if she could think of anything besides gun control to curb the issue. Bc she makes it sound like thats the only thing, and that if youre not on the boat then youre a terrible person with a gun fetish

I would advocate several of the ideas being listed (including NotMyRealName ones) being implemented in your society for a period of like 2 years at least. Nothing will be concluded before. Nothing is permanent during this time. Afterwards ideally a conclusion can be made, based on the results.
If you are now wondering what list of ideas.. it should have been bumped a long time ago already I hope @Balbus who compiled and posted it can easily find and bump it.
