I've heard them protesting more than the gun abuse from the culprit. They've been arguing for a lot of the same things people in this thread considered in order to limit the chance on school shootings. And no, it wasn't for more guns and bulletproof backpacks

 

Of note they made is that 42% of crime are not being reported, and that they also have recatergorized some if what is included.

Also is this crime that reflects convicted crimes only or crime that was later dismissed or found not guilty for whatever reasons. They guys walking the streets after committing 12 crimes and let off. Are they counted at all, or just the one time the get convicted?

Maybe the reason that perception doesn't match data is the data doesn't track crime the same way the ones seeing it are. I don't know the criteria that make the numbers.

This is a generalisation (besides a faulty, to the point of nonsensical, assertion in the first place). We have already concluded plenty of left leaning people are just as eager to keep their guns as people on the right. Same with right leaning people and gun control: they're not all against it by definition. It would depend on the details on what improved gun control would entail. Even when it includes limiting access to certain guns.

 

If you interview a population and they say thier perception is crime is up. As SCs data suggest. Then we need to see where they draw that perception from

The left wants us to believe that gun control will help solve crime. Give us all the stats to prove it. Tell that to the folks in Chicago etc. I'm sure they just have a mis-perception of things.

Yes and no. Yes, my argument is that we shouldn't ban a gun that was used in one of the most deadliest mass shootings. No, my main pount is that banning any gun will not reduce mass shootings. Case in point, the assault weapons ban of the 90's did absolutely nothing to reduce the number of mass shootings.

They kinda are already. First off he sawed off the barrel and stock as you stated. Meaning that even if the configuration was illegal, it didn't stopped him from doing it. Second, a true sawed off shotgun is one where the barrel is under 18 inches. In order to get one ypu must go through a lengthy process to legally obtain one.

Again, your point? Would you rather be shot with a 9mm pistol round than a .233?
