Hey guys, I have a dilemma. my dreads are relatively young, two months. I started dreading my hair when it was short, but my bangs were really short. I was planning on just growing them out before dreading. But they've gotten long enough where I can't wear them down, but maybe still too short to dread.

I was curious, if I would be able to buy natural human hair and blend it into my existing bangs and start dreading earlier. I'm not sure if this would work well. Any advice??

All your hair dosnt have to dread at the same rate... Back-side hair (makes sense?) its just starting to dread, while my back and front are tighting up really well... I still have front hair that just wont dread into the bigger ones. So i just let to dread into tiny little dreads...

Unless you want all you dreads to dread up at the same speed and what them to be almost the same length... Then go ahead. But beware of the problems that are going to come from that. Most likly there going to fall out over time, and your going to have loose dreads because you put some forigen hair that has no "foundation"...

Theres my thought of that... Just wait and its going to look great...

I wouldn't recommend it, but simply for cheesy and dubious reasons. =)

Simply put, your locks are your hair, and are a physical manifestation of your place in life, and of your personality. If you are putting extra hair in your locks, what does that say?

Now, I wax and maintain my locks with rubberbands and such. What does that say about me? Hmmmm......

Anyways... How long are they? If they are over 3 inches long, than your bangs are long enough to start the locking process.

my bangs are more like wet rat tails than dreads n they kinda annoy me at times and dangle in dumb places cuz they arent long enough to do anything with,,,, but...

i discovered that a few of the older sisters along the sides can tie on top and look kinda cute as well and keep the younguns up front and those that are just too short n fine to dread pulled back just enough to do their own thing n stay outta my line of vision so that i dont have to wear a tam or bandana n stuff while doing most things.... dunno iffin yours are long enough to do something like that with ,,, but i know it allows my outta control kids to remain outta control bet yet under control..

well im keeping my bangs shorter. I side swept) and im not letting them dread. i make sure and run my fingers thru them alot to avoid tangles. i hate dreaded bangs. i think the straight bangs and dreads are awsome together

see the thing about my hair, is that i have very thin hair, so bangs kind of look terrible on me anyway, unless they start very far back on my head. which is fine if all my hair is straight and smooth. but looks kind of silly with my dreads. needless to say, i wound up using my idea and dreading fake hair into my bangs to create longer locks. they look pretty good right now. and i am hoping they get better as time wears on. thanks for the advice anyway. :)
