I've got 40mg adderals and 7.5/500mg Lortabs(white with bluegreen specks). Is it a good idea to mix the two or is it a waste? If so how should i go about taking them for the best combined high?
It would be a waste to mix them. The adderall is a stimulant and the lortabs are a narcotic so they'll kind of cancel each other out.
hydrocodone is an opiate which effects a different part of the brain than amphetamines so they couldnt cancel each other out.
Yes they effect different parts of the brain so technically your right they wont cancel each other out chemically. They will however cancel each other out in that they have basically opposite effects, opiates being depressants and amphetamines being stimulants. Trust me its not a very worthwhile combination. I'm prescribed adderall and have been prescribed vicodin in the past so I've taken hydrocodone and adderall at the same time, and they do not make a fun mixture and pretty much cancel each other out in the way i explained above.
its true that the overwhelming up of the adderall and down of the lortab will be diminished but i dont think they would completely cancel out the euphoria. youll still feel the brain tickling buzz you just wont be nodding out or running up the walls while u feel it it would be similar to a speedball.however ive never personally tried this combo but i love the mixture of alcohol, a deppresant and cocaine, a stimulant. alone both drugs are to me a waste of money and not very fun but when mixed i love them a little too much. however like stated in daedalus's sig i am not a medical proffesional, all my advice is from personal experience or research. please just be responsible

Obviously you haven't tried this particular combo yourself or you wouldn't be making an ass out of yourself. While may sig may say otherwise, its for legal purposes. yeah taking adderall and lortabs basically a pharmaceutical speed ball...i say just take the lortabs alone, but then again im notorious for hating on the stimulants..
i say if ur gonna do a pharm. speed ball then hit up the oxycontin+adderall combo.. Oxycodone is a lot more euphoric then hydrocodone...
Now this . . . this is feasible. The adderall wouldnt be able to cancel it so much as the hydrocodone, which is a rather weak opiate. You'd probobly kill all hope of "tweekin" from the adderall, but it would keep you awake at higher oc dosages. Thank you for helping to clear this up jahred.
you guys were right that combo sucked all i really felt was the lortabs until they wore off then i felt the speed, no combo feeling though.... a waste.
Yeah, the same thing happened to me when i tried it, though it was because i actually needed the painkillers that i tried it. See what i mean about canceling each other out in a symptomatic sense, it sucks . . .
The combo is different than either one seperately but one drug often dominates and there is some "cancelling" or physiological antagonism between the two if you wanna get all technically proper (proper english --screw it). I don't consider the opiate/speed a magical combo but a smallish dose of opioid does effectively cures the instant diarrhea effect that adderall can produce. Which is better is a subjective opinion. Sometimes an opiate buzz is wonderful, makes me feel at peace with the world, and forget all pain and sorrow. Other times (the wrong time/situation) it makes me depressed and sluggish. I prefer a moderate dose of adderall when trying to focus, especially writing and listening (one way conversation). For two way + conversations I like to slightly reduce the amphetamine dose and add a small to moderate dose of benzo (i.e. xanax or klonopin). If I feel it is needed, ideally I tail off with just a few mgs of (<7.5) codone for the beneficial effects on GI motility. Optionally I like to add about 5 mg zolpidem, 2.5 if opiates + benzo, 5, if just benzo, 5-10 if just amphetamine. Taken this way is essentailly medicinal. Things like lines of H and caine I have no real world knowledge, but do know it can make the probability of an overdose much greater...be careful its some deceptfully complex pharmacodynamics.
Speaking of physiological antagonism there is some between opiates and Gaba agonists. You may have experienced this if a few beers or xanax takes some of the pleasure away from an opiate euphoria. Yet there is also an additive and possibley synergistic agonism going on as well. I need to do more research but I figure that it is like this: you take an opiate and certain areas of the brain light up, or turn off. This can also be studied with a GABA agonist. Is the (theoretical) convoluted integration the soution to the real composite image? My hypothesis is yes, but only in a fuzzy approximate sense that may be refined according to the specific drug idiosyncracies and pharmacokinetics.
