does it ever bug you when the tv/movies are inaccurate about their details?

I'm watching relic hunter (cheesy, I know) and they had this statue that's supposed to be of Egyptian origin... it doesn't look Egyptian at all in style (Ancient Egyptian that is). It looked like the person had never seen anything from ancient Egypt, more like someone had tried to describe what ancient Egyptian art looked like when they only knew about a dozen words of English

    yeah

it doesnt' normally bug me much, but when it's a huge mistake, or when it's on a show that focuses on historical stuff and is incredibly wrong about the details, yeah... that makes me grumpy

If you're refering to soley historical accuracy, then yes, that would bother me. Then again, almost all historical references in TV/films are innaccurate for the sake of bettering plot or whatnot, so you come to expect it anyways.

What did the statue look like by the way?

like they took a barbie, used some clay to make the torso a little more normal, glued a cats head ontop that was made by an 8 year old, and spray painted the whole shebang gold

it's a relaly really really hokey episode... "nine lives". Ugh, it's soooo cheesy, I mean, overly cheesy, painfully so

Oooh, you know what really bugs me? How movies and/or television portray birthing! Arrghh! Like it's so quick and easy to just pop one out of you! Hello?! Yeah, maybe if you use epidurals and pain meds out the wahzoo, but naturally?! But seriously, they make it look so gosh darned easy to me...over and done with in the blink of an eye, and then they're presented with a huge, wide-eyed 3 month old baby.

Course, I realize that they couldn't film a 23 hour labor like I had with my oldest son. [IMG] Heheheh!
