That's right, folks, pretty soon I'll be with wheels again! Took us fucking 2 and a half years and some pocket change and ass kissing, but it starts, it runs, and it's registered and insured. And we got uninsured motorist coverage, so that if we let some fuckwad borrow our car and they wreck it, at least we won't be going to court to fix someone else's car. Haha. But alas, it's only liability (for now), but it's like $35 a month. Super friggin' cheap. Ugh, but I am a terrible driver! I got offered a position as a substitute carrier for the post office, and while it's BITCHIN' money, I'm only guaranteed one day a week (poo on that!), and I'd have to drive. I suck at driving. So, I'm turning this position down. It'd be nice to get my foot in the door, but to take that job, I'd have to keep my current job, and I'm looking for something that will get me out of fast food entirely. But yeah, since I'm such a shitty driver and it will take me awhile to get back into the swing of things, I said no. But watch out for a '92 black 2-door Oldsmobile Achieva, because a crazy woman's behind the wheel.
It passed! Whoooooo! And I really don't want to be here, I want to be driving all over, but it's pretty hot out there (no a/c), gas costs money, blah blah bleh. I get to drive to work tomorrow! AAAHHH! Independence!
whooooooooohoooooooo kinky!! now we can put our plan into action, i just can't afford to drive there for you-know-what, wink wink
Congratulations!!! I'd take that job, & work my way into more time. If you can find any way to make yourself indispensable... And/or some asshole fucks up, you're in! But, it's your life... So, best wishes on the job hunt!
Well, the problem with that job is that it will be a minimum of 3-5 years with just ONE guaranteed day a week before I can get any benefits or move up to full-time, so I'd have to have another job, but I'd be on call for the post office every day Mon-Fri as a substitute carrier, and the places around here just aren't flexible enough to give me a part-time that would work around that. And I'd have to drive my own car, that obviously just got fixed, and they only pay $24 a day for wear and tear and gas. It just doesn't seem like it would be worth it in the end. So, I'll tell her to keep me in mind for a clerk position if one becomes available. Otherwise, I'll just try to save up my money for college so I don't waste 3-5 years working one day a week.
Now that you've explained it, I agree... That was a smart way to go.^ As I said before, good luck to you! Fast food does suck completely.
Oh tell me about it! 3 years and still going, man. But hey, that's a good work record, which means if I find something a little better, it shouldn't be hard getting on.
what???...they used to look like this ...and I think each month had a different color so the "bears" could spot the outta date ones quick The Bear
