ok so i cant spell. well the gov. tried to make it illegal, but it looks like the southwestern church won out, and they can still use it. anyone know if its legal for everyone to use? i did manage to have a little bit of tea during my travels, but never a good dose to experiment. anyone have experiences with it?
Ayahuasca, is how it's spelt. I'm pretty sure it's not illegal, for it's protected because of it's religious purposes. I think anyone can do it, so long as you're GENUINELY in it for the spiritual experience, not just to "trip out". Ayahuasca has intrigued me for a while now, and I'd love to try it. I'm not sure where/how you can obtain it, though, and it'd be wise to do under professional supervision. http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/ayahuasca/ayahuasca.shtml
Maybe I'm just mixed up, but isn't ayahausca more just to take with DMT to increase the effects or whatever?
No, Ayahuaca is a tea or brew consisting of the "B. caapi vine and other admixtures such as P. viridis (or other DMT-containing plants)." It is taken in religious sects, to expand awareness, and purge the spirit of evil.
Oh, sorry, I guess I kind of misunderstood. I thought you were asking if Ayahuasca was taken WITH DMT, to increase the effects of DMT. When actually, all ingredients are essential to produce the effects.
thanks inbloom. i know what it is and where it comes from. its also not hard to order the vine from south america. it'll come to you about as thick as your wrist too. i was just wondering if anyone was following the recent court case about it, and if they knew if the protections were just for the church in question, or the general american populace. its perhaps one of the stongrest spiritual trips, besides maybe peyote, out there, and wholely uncomfortable. but very rewarding from what i hear. i was offered some during my mostly sober homelessness, so i only tried a bit to get the taste of it, not the trip of it. im wondering if anyone can give a first hand experience of it?
This is the site for the church you are speaking of, the UDV. The court ruling was for this group to use it in their ceremonies. http://www.udv.org.br/
keep in mind that outside religious context the use of ayahuasca brew is still illegal. damn those politicians! why they use two plant's is because the DMT from the psychotropia viridis isn't orally active ... it's broken down by MOAI in the gutt ... so you take the caapi - wich is a MOAI inhibitor - so the DMT can get from the gutt in the blood to your brain. ayahuasca is very special - it's nothing you ever done ... it's a medicin.
Well put, silenceinc. It is definetly a medicine, not a toy to play around with and get silly. It envokes serious spiritual and physical cleansing out of the body. You vomit like a fucker for awhile, and then you enter an intense spiritual journey of sorts, in a feverish state.
I would love to try this...it is said it makes acid seem like a toy! Erowid.org have loads of info on it including some really strange experiences...
