A posession charge and its effects

I was charged with possession of marijuana as a juvenile and I'm trying to get it expunged, but if I don't what impact could it have on my life down the road? I heard many jobs will turn you down, which I find to be VERY sad that someone would do that to you simply because of a past mistake that is only viewed as a mistake in some peoples eyes, that being the possession of a plant.

 

i do imagine that it would be more difficult if you have that on your record..i dont know about jobs, but in rhode island (and probably other states), if you were convicted of a drug offense (including marijuana), they dont give you any financial aid for college, which is total bullshit
thank god i was never caught...

 

Yeah I hate that. Drug crimes are the only crimes where they can deny you financial aid. Not with rape, murder, armed robbery, nothing.
