i want to order seeds online, but i wasn't sure if its safe or not can anyone help out. i don't want to place an order and then a week later have a bunch of pigs knocking on my door asking for me.
generally speaking, a seed package that gets intercepted by customs will earn you a note in the package saying that the items violated laws and the seeds will have been removed. with the volume of violations that occur they simply don't have the manpower to arrest, or even charge the offenders with anything. if you feel unsafe about having seeds sent to your address, you can set up a p.o. box with an assumed name. you have to use your real ID to get the box, but you can put the assumed name down as well and order seeds to it using that. you can also purchase prepaid credit cards from places like walgreens (walmart prepaid visa cards are US only). check to make sure that one you are buying is good internationally and on the internet. this makes the paper trail one step harder to follow, it won't prevent a hellbent government agency from finding you, but it will make it a little more difficult and offer slight piece of mind. ive heard of many people having seeds sent to their home address under their true names w/no problem, but not everyone will go this route. also, generally seed companies have good stealthy packaging that allows them to make it to the destination unmolested. good luck, -ZB
thanks a lot i really appreciate the info, felt a little funny asking but figured i'd rather look silly askin than make a mistake
To take it a step further, once you get that letter from customs you are put on the watch list at all airports all over the world.
